I'm hosting a 16 year old girl from Germany. She is part of the student foriegn exchange program. She asked me if it would be okay for her to have friends over this weekend. Paying half attention I said "sure" and didn't think any more of it. I just found out "friends over" means all the German girls in the program are coming over and having a slumber party at my house.

In a matter of minutes my house is going to be filled with giggly gabby 16 year old girls.

I am a wise man.

I have quickly bought sodas, cookies, and snacks... thrown a couple 20s on the kitchen counter so they can send out for pizza...

...and now I am beating a hasty retreat. With luck I can stay gone to past midnight.

You just have to ignore those comments and keep going with life.

Update: I picked my girlfriend up at her shop, took her out to dinner and a movie... then wisely called home while I was on my way back... told the girls she and I were coming and did they want me to pick up icecream.

Always give kids time to stash the evidence.

One of my good friends hosted a kid from Colombia. Those were great times. The 2nd weekend he was here my friend and I had been drinking at a party and didn't want to drive home. Our only option was the Colombian kid who had no idea how to drive. He had to learn awfully quick. In fact, we got pulled over but the cop found the whole situation so funny he let us all go. (We were only 2 blocks from our destination)

9:35am... all the little skinks are crammed into one room and not a peep out of them yet. I suspect they all stayed up till 5:00am and I'm not going to see any sleepy heads pop out till noon.
