H highspeed New member Mar 5, 2003 #1 Quick ? when measuring insulin. I have slin R 100iu/1ml. My ? is on a insulin syringe, .5cc, if i wanted to start with 2iu, would that be measured 20 on the syn itself? Thus 4iu would be 40 on syn?

AustinTX New member Mar 5, 2003 #2 2 IUs would be 2 on an insulin syringe; 4 would be 4 etc. you can't measure that low of a dose on a 100 IU syringe, probably not on a 50IU syringe either. you need 30 IU syringes. someone else may know if you can dilute the slin with BW to get a lower IU/ml ratio...
