Slim jims and beef jerky

beef jerky can be high in sodium (salt)

not that good when cutting :(
 
slim jim's are out: high sodium and saturated fat. If you can find a lowfat jerky, that would be better. But again, it's high sodium as well which will cause water retention.
 
i found some jimmy dean beef jerkey that was AWESOME. it had no fat at all, and an assload of protein. i'm not sure about the sodium though... :rolleyes:

The sodium level is always high in jerky, that's where the taste comes from. But the only risk here is water retention, a temporary state. If you don't mind that, low-fat jerky's a great snack.
