Sleeping 14 hours a night

endpoint

New member
I have changed jobs.
I have one shitty day where i only have 10 hours between shifts.
I dont sleep much on this night.......but every night i sleep at least 10 hours. But now i am getting 12 hours sleep......and last night 14 hours.

Is this unhealthy or a sign of anything?

The 14 hour sleep happened after a day at work (9hours), then 1 hour 30 mins in the gym

I read somewhere that there is an optimal amount of sleep (around 8 hours).
It was a relation bettwen live duration and amount of sleep. Sleeping too much or too little was related with shorter life.
Anyway, it seems you usually don't sleep that much. Maybe it is a sign or something. Depression for example (?)

probably you are just getting used to your new job.

At a peaking phase with training, so that maybe something to do with it.

It has actually be a month and a half since i started the new job.

thanks for the link.

its unhealthy because you dont eat for 14 hours. If you wanna build muscles thats NOT the way you do it.

But you're still sleeping which means your body is in "energy saving mode", using just enough to keep vitals going. As long as you eat good when you're up you shouldn't lose any noticeable size. Sleeping this much usually means your immune system is worn down and is trying to restore itself. I work a lot and am active and I sleep an average of 10-12 hours a night. If you're taking medication such as prozac it could be a reason why you're sleeping so much. If you feel different for the worse otherwise it would be wise to consult a doc.
