been using this size, but if i can, i'd prefer to use smaller

I use a 23 gauge 1.5 inch for glute shots

I use a 25 gauge 1 inch for delts,quads,calves and traps

(all the gear that I've been using is oil base also)

and no,it's not necessary to use a 21 gauge needle for 'ass shots' LOL

you can use smaller gauge which is actually a higher number,kinda ass backwards when you first realize that,isn't it?

I do not think 1' is long enough for either quad or glutes shots.

My delts are big enough that I use 23 1.5 pins, I keep the pin from going all the way in but definitely it's in more than 1' deep. LOL

I will never use 1' pins unless is like pec or bi/tri muscles. I suspect that many ppl have some issues because with short needles the oil just sits close to the skin and you get pumps and bruises and all kind fun stuff

if you warm the oil slightly mine will pass thru 25g,,,i normally run 23g

yeah, but with a higher gauge (smaller hole or thinner needle) it's a real prick to draw up the gear, is it not?
just looking now, i reckon the 23g 1inch might be too short and the hole too small.

I have been using a 25 1&1/2" for glute and thigh shots. I wouldn't go much higher in gauge than that. I don't feel a thing.

your gear cannot be mixed properly then. I've never had any gear I could not shoot draw and shoot easily with a 23 g pin

It really does not hurt me using 23-1.5 needle at all.
I had a problem once but that was my fault for moving the needle while in the glute. That was after an arm workout and my hand was all over the damn place -had problem sitting for a week LOL

No reason to use anything bigger than a 23ga.
If your gear doesn't flow through that smoothly then find a new lab.

23g is fine all around. Never had gear requiring anything bigger either
