Sick and working out??

Do you guys work out while getting over a cold??? I just finished my cycle and got a head cold and stopped working out for 5 days now but i feel like i am losing my shape. I want to get back into the gym but I don't want to over do it and get sick again. So should I hit the gym or just relax and get 100% better. I say i am 85% better right now.
 
I think you should just recover, a cold doens't last that long unless you truly got hit hard.
 
i always work out somewhat through a sickness, it seems to help me recover, just don't over do it.
 
There's a rule I heard a long time ago, and I think it seems to work:

If the illness is entirely above your neck (like only a head cold - stuffy nose, etc) then work out like crazy.

If the illness goes beyond your head (body aches, cough, etc) then take some time off to recover


It's always worked for me....
 
I agree with that, but I would never do more than cardio if I felt sick. I train the same style as Yates and don't lift weights if I can't give it all I've got. The point of working out is to stimulate growth and you won't grow while your body has more "important" things to do like fighting colds.
 
Grab some glutamine, vitamin c, witamin e + selenium, and a movie from blockbuster. eat healthy and dont forget a multi-vitamin. yess, you may feel like a slob, but your body is going to expend all of its energy and amino acidsn trying to get healthy again, so why try to rob them of that?
 
I have the same problem right now and I'm 8 days into a fina cycle :(

I couldn't believe today I was cold sweating and feverish but I was blastin anyway. I will just play it by ear, if I'm not getting better quickly yes I will take some time off.

I believe that vitamins may be of some use prevenatively but do sweet F A when you are already sick (assuming you get recommended amounts through food.)

Heh, one thing I won't do this time is take off sick from work yet go to the gym. Last time my boss saw me at they gym when off work, he was super pissed.

You'll get alot of different opinons on this but personaly,I try to make it to the gym and go for a jog every day unless I'm deathly ill.If I do feel like shit instead of running in the morning I may just walk and as for the gym even if I do just one set I always make an attempt to get there due too the fact that if I start taking days off I'll get lazy.
