Damn not a good day for a ride!!!!!...Five -"O" was out in force today, complete with helicopters....they followed us thru one of the canyons and set down with a road block....we saw them overhead and stopped and waited for them to land, turned around and split back up the road....i took the beach home and parked it...oh well, to ride another day...now im really bored.

That blows!!

There's nothing like the FUZZ to ruin a kick ass day of canyon riding!

I used to ride up Dear Creek Canyon all the time when I lived there. Best riding I ever did!

Stick....you from cali?...Deer creek up in Ojai?

I am from Cali but no, sorry I wasn't more specific. It was Dear Creek Canyon in Colorado.

I live in Alaska right now. The riding season is short but AWSOME!! This winter I'm buying an '05 CBR1100RR. I'll be itchin like a bitch to ride it in the spring but up here you get kliller deals on bikes in the winter!

Can't wait!!

Stick, you'll be very happy...Iam with mine. the bike is rock solid in every aspect...there are no surprises...the only thing i have left to do is go up on the rear sprocket....the specs say both on the internet and mags the the stock gearing is 16 to 43....my scoot came with 16 to 41...my top end is unlimited so far...i think that a 43 in the rear would be ideal...i checked with another rider in my group and his 05 CBR came with 16 to 41 also...i dont know whats up with that, but no biggie...it'll squirt better out of turns with the 43 no doubt....i can stay in 2nd and 3rd gear most often in the canyons if they are tight...not much shifting with the ratio i have now...but i could be a little quicker if i run a 43 on the rear wheel...

What are you running for your exhaust (aftermarket)? What other upgrades have you done (carburation, air filter, etc.)?

HS- cops are working Malibu Canyons, PCH, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills all week long throughout the day...if you have ANY aftermarket performance parts they are writting for them...this inlcudes some of the canyons that encompass the city limits (Latigo Canyon)...stay away!!!....they're going nutz right now....
Stick- im running a "Jardine" racing system exhaust, with a PCIII...ive trimmed the shit out of it too, just cosmetics, lost 18#....the reason for Jardine is thats what HRC is running on the GP bikes...i like to stay with what the big boyz run...the Filter to run is the new BMC, not the K&N....my bike dyno'd @ 145HP @ rear wheel...im at approx.375# total bike weight...maybe a little less.the CBR is the heaviest of the big 4, but it does not ride like it or feel like it...this is the conscenses of all test riders and guys like me...it is longer in wheel base too, but thats where the stability factor shines for this bike...its on rails! edit: im fuel injected bro... :p :p :p

Very nice! Good info! I'll keep this for when I pick mine up.
