Shoulder Pain

For all you med guys out here. Heres my question when I do seated dumbbell press after about the 3rd set my left shoulder around the top starts to hurt pretty bad it even hurts worse when i do side dumbbell lat raises. What could this be?
When i warm-up like i should it does not hurt as bad.
The pain is more of a throbbing pain more than anything.
Hope u guys can give me some advice.

Could this be from injectioning in shoulders.

How long does it hurt after the workout? Does it hurt always or just when you work shoulder?

i have the same problem...

impingement syndrome and associated rotator cuff tears are commonly encountered shoulder problems. symptoms include pain, weakness and loss of motion. not making a diagnosis here or anything. but here is a web site you should visit:
http://www.aafp.org/afp/980215ap/fongemie.html

it's an awesome article because it describes etiology of rotator cuff dysfunction, shows key features of the physical examination is an assessment, and even mentions a differential diagnosis. also important is it's discussion of treatments (from conservative to actual surgical intervention).

very scholarly (lots of big words) but has many nice pictures:D

shoulder pain

if you are familiar with a shoulder horn, give it a try. It is a strange shape bar you throw over your shoulders and behind your neck. This isolates shoulder moverment. Start with a 5 lb dumbell hanging in hand and lift them up to about eye level. Burn out about 25 reps and then stretch real good. This will help with the impingment. I would do this any time I did shoulder presses and bench.

I can relate. Cant do incline or flat db any more. There is a crunching poping sound in the shoulder. Lateral flies are a b*tch
to attempt. This injury seems never really heals so I find I have tro work thru it or tske Ibuprfin. Heating and stretching the muscles prior can help too.

I have had a similiar injury twice. After x-rays the Dr. told me that becasue of the way my bone is shaped anytime the rotator cuff becomes slightly inflamed it puts pressure on the bone causing the pain. I do not inject in my shoulders anymore and i do a few warm up excersices that the Dr showed me every single day before I work out no matter the body part. it's been about three years since it really has bothered me. (knock on wood) He said the next step is to go in and shave down the bone, but I am going to avoid that at all costs.

dudes if youve got shoulder or joint pain try this stuff called naproxen sodium, its basically generic alieve and you can get it at any drug store/grocery store.
it comes in 220mg tabs so take two like an hour or more before you train and a couple more a couple hours later.
This shit works wonders for me, i had BAD forearm/elbow pain and this helped alot.

i had the same problem in my right shoulder(i am left handed) and it turned out to be tendenitis. it would only burn like 10 minutes into my workout and would feel fine by the time i left the gym.. but i didnt "listen" to my body and made it a little worse by ignoring it for a couple months. I saw some physical therapist and he recomended making some minor adjustments to my workouts - like closing my grip on benchpresses, NO pushups< NO widegrip pullsdowns, NO dips and a couple other things! while i hated to take these excercies out of my routine(they were all among my favorites) it has definietely helped. and one day soon i will ease my way back into them. So maybe you are like me and not badly injured and just need to lay off and take it easy for awhile... Well i dont take it easy really, but i just listen to my body and if a particular excercise hurts i simply avoid it and do something else. Until one day i hope all the pain GOES AWAY! good luck
