my injury isnt severe just a dull ache when i lift heavy bench. i dont want to stop lifting. whats the best A.S. for restructuring shoulders?

Rotary cuff pain is a common result of injury to that area of the shoulder joint. This injury occurs due to:
- lack of effective warm-up
- improper form of pressing ... usually elbow and grip placement
- too heavy a weight

The application of RICE is indicated, not the application of a steroid.

There are exercises to warm-up and strengthen the cuff. Let us know if you are interested.

Hi,

I had this problem. I was benching heavy ages ago and my shoulder went. I kept getting dull pains when I did heavy bench or press behind the neck.

I ended up having physio, ultrasound for weeks and eased off onto dumbells for less weight where it hurt.

Luckily the pain totally went and I was able to go back to heavy flat benches but I learned the following:

Don't do wide grip benches, slightly wider than shoulder width puts less strain on your shoulders
Don't do press behind the neck, it will do you shoulders in if you have had shoulder pain

Also follow the advice of thelion2005 - it's similiar to what an experienced guy told me during my rehab.

I forgot to add, using Deca seemed to help ease the pain whether it was fluid in the joint or something but Deca is supposed to help with joint and tendon injuries although I hope somebody with more knowledge that me can comment on this.
