Should Joe W. be sued?

I was thinking about all the supplements and the crap that Joe Weider has produced and said over the years. This man blantantly lied to millions of people by saying that the men who were advertising his products got that way from using them, even though he had full knowledge they were on roids. Some of his former spokesmen for his supplements have even come out publicly and said that Joe Wieder knew they were all juiced up. So, should Weider be sued for deceptive business practices? I believe that Wieder lied to millions about the results of taking his supplements, as well as he lied about that the people he used to promote his products get big from his supplements, and not roids. So why does Weider not only get away with this, but continue to have his company stay in business? Are there that many idiotic fools out there who like flushing their money down the toilet? C'mon, do people really think that Lou Ferigno got that big from taking Weider's "specialty packs" containing Amino acids and protein?

Yes but he never said they got that big from using ONLY his supplements. They got there by using his supplements and that's that.

Now muscle tech is another story, i am sure you see the diffrence. Shit, if you claim to put on 40lbs of muscle with your supplement, something is off. Also weider has been around a long time and back in those days times were different, i do find him more honest then the rest though.

I saw that sheepdcupnipples gave me red karma for stating FACTS AGAINST JOE WEIDER that he didn't like (I wonder why....), and yet he didn't have the balls to even post a reply. I guess you were trying to "punish" me for speaking the facts on someone, or at least someone's company, that you obviously have a connection to. But, in order to keep total deniability about any possible connections, you didn't even post. YOUR A FUCKING COWARD, AND I DON'T GIVE A RAT'S ASS IF YOU GIVE ME MORE RED KARMA. Keep that shit up, and I'll have someone send you red karma. All I was doing was stating FACTS. What's up, sheepnipples, you work for Weider's company? Or are you subconsciously pissed off because you're one of those morons who spent thousands of dollars on Wieder's worthless crap over the years?

I know this is an old, worn out saying, but just because everyone else is doing it (or in this case scamming!), doesn't mean it's right. A deceptive (albeit "legit") company like Weider's should face just as much scrutiny as a deceptive scammer.

Shit, my NY METS won the World Series in 1969. So the spirit has now returned, just as my METS will win the World Series this year.

mike...if u want to sue someone for false advertisement....flip thru any muscle mag and look for this saying in a 6page ad....

4927834962394786x more anabolic then test

Deceptive advertising is as American as the Osmonds and peanut butter. Sometimes I think that if US consumers still actually believe the rediculous claims people make in ads like velvett mentions, they must at least in part take responsibility for pissing their money away.

Just because he didn't outright LIE doesn't mean he wasn't being deceptive. YOU AND I both know that Wieder was counting on the millions of his supplement customers believing that his celebrity endorsers were NOT JACKED UP, but got that way SOLELY FROM HIS PRODUCTS. C'mon, man, if people knew that all of Wieder's endorsers where on roids, do you think Weider would have made all the money that he has, let alone, would his company still be in business?

You're missing the point.

It doesn't matter.

Advertisements are deceptions - all of them.

Plain and simple.

Buy this product - and this is what you will get.

From hand lotion to motor oil to diet supplements.

One of the new equal spokesperson's is my client - in the 4 years that I've known her - she has never used Equal in her coffee.

EVER.

Fact is she uses no sugar substitute in her coffee or her cooking as the ad says she does.

Should we sue Equal as well for false advertising?

Advertising is just a come one to make you want to buy someone's product. If you're looking for facts get your information elsewhere because the advert won't be carrying it.

Well, maybe in the small print.

Well, I would like to respond to that, but I'm not going to go "head to head" with a Mod, let alone an Elite Moderator....so you win.

You're no fun.

I had a big mouth long before the whole mod/elite mod thing and honestly I wish you would respond but you know I'm right on some level don't you?

Just a teeny weenie bit?

No?

Oh and for the record - I think that false advertising is a deplorable act meant to take advantage of those who or weak, desperate or just want to buy something that actual does what it claims to do.

I can not tell you how many cleaning products I have under my sink that I had hoped would work.

Fortunately for myself – I put a bit more time and research into what I put into or onto my body that what I try and clean stainless steel with and even then I’d ask around before buy “AS SEEN ON TV”.

So Mike, what I am saying is I do agree with the morality of your statements but the long term reality of the claim won’t stick.
