Should I work from home?

I might have the option to work from home. All I do is peck on a keyboard all day anyway. There's a certain social aspect of being at the office but presently the only people left in my department at the officeare assholes. The people I like have already made the switch to working at home. It might be nice to not have to worry about traffic and save some fuel.

Yes. Although I still have to be in the office, I often work from home whenever I have a reason to. I try to abuse it as much as possible. Our link to the office network is so shitty that it sucks (getting work done is much harder at home), but I still like staying at home and slacking in the comfort of my apartment.

So far the stats at my company indicate most people who switch to working at home become slightly more productive. Personally I am sick of driving and fear of being late to work.

Hell yeah. At least try it out. If it's not for you, I'm sure you can always switch back.

It's like giving yourself a raise. Less spent on gas/oil changes, less time wasted on the commute, etc.

I was there for round one and it didn't help. Of course I'm now armed.

I would save about $75 monthly on fuel. My car has low mileage and I would like to keep it that way for resale value. There's also a lot of tax deductions you can claim.

Work at the office = You're paid to occupy a chair 8 hours a day.

Work at home = You get paid for your output.

Whether you can or cannot work at home, shows what category you are in. Most fluff jobs are in the top category.

I think you should do both. If you work from home generally you don't put in the hours and end up slacking in the long run. Plan to work from home Mondays and Fridays... or something and come in the other days.

That's not an option. If you choose to work from home, you can't decide to go in to the office on some days and stay at home others.
