I got a cold pretty bad yesterday when i woke up, and yesterday (monday) was my chest and triceps day, and i love goin to the gym and liftin cause its a way to get out anything that is buggin me, but i couldnt give 110% so i decided to wait until this mornin, im still sick but not that bad, and i wanna hit up the gym, should i go or just take it easy and skip my (monday)?

I have a head cold, but I hit the gym yesterday and gave it my all. Even set a couple PRs.

But, if youre not feeling it bro, rest. A day off is good now and then.

go lift. It has been demonstrated many times that you don't need to not lift if you are sick. Olympic Gold has been won by people with severe flus, colds, etc...

Working out while you are sick doesn't hurt you.

Babying yourself while you are sick DOES hurt you.

Yeah i think i might hit it later tonight around 8 or so when its not that busy, so people dont get pissed off when im hackin up a lung, plus im started to feel a little bit better now that i am movin around, instead of lyin on my ass..............

Bro, very important anecdotal story... one writer was talking about why she came alive in college. She said that when she was a little girl every time she had a sniffle her mom put her to bed and took care of her. Tummy ache... go to bed and stay home from school. Got her period - go to bed and read magazines and have mom bring her soup. When she got to college she caught a cold. She was supposed to do volunteer work making a float that day... but she promptly got in her pajamas and got in bed. He roommate saw that she wasn't at the float helping... and went to look for her. She found her in bed and asked her what was wrong. The girl told her she had a cold. The roommate said, "Get your ass out of bed and get down there. We have a lot of work to do. You aren't on your death bed."

That was the eye opener for the writer. She realized how much of life she was missing by letting little colds and aches shut her down. She worked through every illness after that. She never wanted another "sick day."

ok the whole thing is that you will not get better if you keep lifting, you do have to rest

I learnt about that the hard way last year, and it cost me a good couple of weeks worth of missed workouts.

when you say this, it seems misleading imo. I'd wager that in most cases the person is in the very beginning stages of illness as per this.

The East Germans understood the role of additional heat when an extensive review of world record performances revealed how often the record setter was at the early stages of a cold and running a fever when the record was set. (Later into the cold, the adverse effects outweigh the benefits, of course.) This led the East Germans to experiment with de-natured viruses to generate a slight fever immediately prior to a world record attempt!

I went and lifted, and actually did alot more than i was aimin for even if i wasnt sick, i was able to put up alot more on the incline, and a pretty nice increase in my french press. Then on the last set of my inclines, my titties started freakin out, bouncin like there was no tomorrow, felt pretty damn good after i walked out of the gym, and im not very sick anymore.....................
