should i get a puppy?

okay i have no friends and for the time being i work from home.

I recently puppy sat for my parents for a week. it was a 3 lb mini yorky terrier. she gave me kisses and cuddled me to sleep.

the same breeder has one that will max out at 5 lbs and will be available on the 17th of january. i really really want her. Down side is $600 for the dog, then expenses and responsibility.

good side is she is adorable.

i have a picture that i can send to anyone who wants to see (no plat = no post)

please help me make my decision. what are your doggie experiences???

working contracts is good pay, but no stability. i do not know what i will be making 6 months from now. It is something you can only do if you are single....

I have a lab, he's been my best loyal bud for nearly ten years. He only costs about 740cdn a year (plus toys).

I trained him myself and he's the best dog a guy could want. BUT, now my fiancee and I are moving in together and she is allergic. Now what?

I don't think little yorkies would be that big of an expense. If you had a big 50lb dog that ate like a beast you might have a big expense. Just buy the little doggy food in bulk at your local Costco or BJs or something.

Also I highly recommend litterbox training your dog. My dog shits and pisses in an oversized litterbox with newspaper laid out. Never have to worry about him going on the floor because the door was closed or something.

If Deadz huge lab costs only 740cdn a year (what's that? like 5 bux US? ), then a little yorkie shouldn't be a big expense. Just make sure you expose him to people a lot because if yorkies are anything like my chihuahua/terrier mix, he'll bark up a storm around strangers and kill your peace and quiet.

Its a myth that larger breed dogs eat more than smaller dogs.
My mastiff east 3 cups of food a day, same as my black lab. All told, they eat 20 US dollars (that's like 4000 cnd) a month. Heartworm and flea/tick meds cost 36 dollars every 3 months. Dog toys run me about 15 a month, mostly because the lab will knaw through plutonium if he gets bored. (Lots of toys = less boredom)

My neighbor's shitzhu east 4 cups a day.

Although oddly, my mastiff has turds larger than the shitzhu. Yappy friggin' dogs....

While my mastiff was growing, he ate up to 6 cups a day. He doubled his bodyweight once every 6-8 weeks until he peeked at 170~. Now he eats the same as my lab.
