New member
the guy ive been going to usually does a good job. gets all my spine joints popped and aligned and puts the electric pad on my lower back and loosens everything up. but the last 2 times ive went, he didnt really crack my lower back, he tried but it didnt really do it.

when you go, do they get that spot "cracked" every time you go? i got another appointment next week, every 5 weeks. usually the pain doesnt start creeping back on me till at least 3-4 weeks after i go but this time it never really went away

I would talk to your current chiro about your concern before you jump ship. he will be able to work through it if he's a legit good chiro

Way too little info bro. When are you going? Before workout, after? What was your workout the day before? Are you injured? BTW, Yes I am a D.C.

i go every 5 weeks. usually ill go after my workout that day and take off the next. could be any workout, but after, i always avoid squats or deadlifts for the next couple of days. im not injured but i do have some damage done to my lower back from hunching over in and out of a work van for a few years

yeah im deff going to my appointment next week, but its during that time when i go is when i want to decide what to do for the next time

well i will say this.. a good chiropractor won't have you keep coming back over and over and over. a couple treatments and advice for what you should work on at home or do different and he should cut you loose. sounds like this guy is trying to fund his kids braces or college tuition on your back.

I was going to add this too, I have started taking Astaxanthin for joints. It has helped my lower back pain big time. I have taken many products for lower back and nothing really seemed to help. It's cheap too. I take 8 mg a day and it has helped a lot. Astaxanthin is derived from Salmon, it's what makes Salmon Pink.

just read up on astaxanthin, thanks ill look for it next time i go out. my joints have been dry lately and my back pain has gotten worse along with it

he says i need to come back because i have done some bad damage to my lower back. and the pain comes back after about 4 weeks anyway. when i first started going, there was a couple times that i came to my next appointment and i didnt have any pain at all and he said everything looks good and to just call him when i need another appointment. but the last two times he didnt even crack my lower back (he tried and it didnt work i guess) and the pain never really went away.

^^^ sounds like if he is accurate you are doing something to further damage the area where you gotta keep going back.. have you tried changing mattresses? or laying off the heavy squats/deadlifts?

my mattress is old. i dont do heavy deadlifts because of this, but heavy squats i dont want to give up.

basically when he cracks all those joints in my lower back im fine for at least 4 weeks. but the last two times he said ok there we go like he did get them cracked but he didnt.

have you been to many chiropractors? what do they usually do for you im curious? ive seen some use x-rays, different kinds of tables etc.. but ive only been to one.

I have a bad lower back due to hurniated discs n shit. Sumo style squats and deads help me feel more stable, and less pressure on my lower back

yes back when i had great insurance i used to go to a chiropractor 2X per week.. its a nice little scam they have going. they would crack my back and hook me up to a vibrating machine.. $500 out the door and $15 out of pocket. here is the thing.. the more they crack your back, the more you will need to come in. do some research online and you will see its true. what happens when they adjust is you get temporary relief but you will end up being hooked on it and needing to keep going back over and over and over again. going to him i got nowhere so i decided to take some yoga classes and i got a better mattress and better chair at my office. and boom, my back problems dissapeared!! yoga will stretch out your muscles and loosen things up.

thats why i told you above a good chiropractor will have you come in a couple times and then cut you loose with homework to do at home.. could be stretches, changing pillow/mattress etc. if they find out you have good insurance they will milk you as much as possible.

i would recommend you switch over to an acupuncturist instead, look up reviews online and find a good one. and start doing some yoga classes, get a better mattress.. remember chiropractors work on BONE, not muscle. and i would lay off the heavy squats. you can still work out the lower body without squats

I kept having problems with chiros.. Till I found one way into sports meds. So then in the first ten minutes. He says ah.. Your hips are off. Then he said my left leg was shorter. Not by a ton like 6mm. But after some pulling and cracking. Now just go when I feel like it. So keep shopping till you find one. Oh and if you are huge your chiro needs to be able to reach around you to crack you.

^^ those were popular back in the day. how long do you use it?

I use it every day or EOD, depends. Spine alignment is a wonderful thing. If it werent for the blood rushing to your head I would hang upsidedown for an hour.
Inversion tables arent a past fad. They are legit and really help.
My wife has degenerative disk disease and 10 years ago could barely get through a day of work, let alone lift anything or bend over.
Constantly shoveling anti inflammatories and muscle relaxers.
I bought her a table and she used it twice daily for 3 months and she was as good as new. She runs, lifts very heavy things (100 lb + from the floor) for her job...... no problems since.

i think my gym has one of these, you put your feet in and push the button and it turns you upside down but i always thought it was for sit ups. any particular time i should use it?

I have a fantastic Chiro, havent seen her in 9 months. Why? She told me that her plan is to not have me back, but if something happens, come see her. She also does PT, so I guess she doesnt need to pimp patients.

A chiro that actually adjusts you and doesnt use that worthless clicker thing, plus has your best interest in mind(not keeping you coming forever) , an inversion table, are two big ones...

But you should look into accupuncture to bro. Or go with the triple threat, chiro, deep tissue massage, accupuncture for a few weeks. yes its pricey but a couple times a week for all three for a month or so along with daily inversion table use afterwards and I bet barring actual tissue/cartiledge damage you'll be good to go.

thanks everyone for the advice. i went to my usual chiropractor for the last the last time. his plan is to just have me keep coming back every 5 weeks. ill look into the inversion table.

burn, i heard deep tissue massage actually inhibits your strength did you find this to be true?

Me recomending deep tissue is based on stretching the muscles out manually instead of say perscription muscle relaxors or whatever. This allowing your spine to try and align itself with the aid of chiro/stretching/inversion. If you have any misalignment presently then chances are you have some tightened up angry muscles around your spine. Massage manipulation will loosen the muscle and get it to try and relax. Stacking proceedures in a single day works great too. Such as a massage followed by chiro....ect...or even massage chiro accupuncture.....or whatever.
The key is to get the muscles to relax and stay relaxed and get your.spine aligned. Then keep it aligned by daily inversion and stretching/strengthening.
I have a friend that had a pinched siatic nerve(however you spell it.) went to the regular dipshit doc and got his muscle relaxors and 800mg motrins and ate em all like candy for a week without improvement. Barely mobile. Refused to come use my inversion table cause its not what the doctor told him to do. Then he asked his doc about it and the doc blew smoke up his ass.....why.....cause he wouldn't be paying for visits with an inversion table.....fucking scumbag docs.
I finally got him on my table....3 times in one day and pop. The pinched spot released and over the next few days the soreness went away. I made no bones about telling him what a complete cocksucker I thought he was.

Chiro's saved my shit. Sacrilliac joint out of wack, one leg an inch longer than the other, etc.

Helped big time. They ain't no bullshit. Of course, you have to find a good one that knows sports injuries.
