Should I be doing cardio?

I'm 5'9, 130 lbs and I really need to gain some weight. However, I've always done cardio and am sort of scared to stop. The problem is that I haven't been making very good gains in the weight-room while I've been doing cardio (and I even lost 3 lbs!), so I was thinking about stopping.

My question is: should I keep doing cardio and just eat more, or would that be counter-productive because the cardio would just be burning the extra calories I've been eating?
