Should I Be Concerned With This

synfull

New member
I am a little concerned about my recent blood test results. I am 58 years old and have been working out steady for the last 5 years (previously through my mid 30's) . I weigh about 210 and am about 19%BF. I have been cycling on and off for the last 3 years. Test Cyp, and sometimes with Deca. My Dr. put me on HRT 4 years ago due to low test (95) but it was the test gel and didn't do anything. Therefore I am not that concerned about PCT, although I do use Post Cycle, Unleashed and Forma Stanzol.

I got my test results back form my last blood test and my Dr. say's he is concerned several out of range results-The test was taken 6 weeks from the end of last cycle.
Hemaglobin- 22 (This has crept up from 15 to 22 over the last 4 years)
Hematocrit- 65.7
Platelet 124
Red Blood Cell Count - 7.22 (has crept up from 5.7 over last 4 years)
Testosterone 101
Free Testosterone 17.9
Of course my test is low due to being off cycle.

I have entered all of my test for the last 5 years into a spreadsheet and can see these values rising.
He said he might want me to see a hematologist. I have told him about the AAS and we are not sure if that is the cause of these high values.
I have just started a new cycle (500 mg Test Cyp wk, and 250 mg Deca). Not sure what I should do at this point. If these values are normally inflated with AAS and it's just doing what it's supposed to do I won't be too concerned. But if otherwise I guess i will need to stop and see what is going on.

Thanks!

are you sure about the hematocrit???
include the "normal" value for the lab (many are different)

Hemoglobin Value 22. - Normal Value- 13.2 to 17.1
Hematocrit Value 65.7 - Normal Value 38.5 to 50

Thanks

that is what I thought---you need to be very very very concerned with that hematocrit--see your doc ASAP--no joke. I live at 6000 feet, use gear, and still mine is only lower-mid 50s and mine is too high to even donate blood. I know a lot about this. in the meantime take a baby aspirin a day.

test is low but that is not an issue.^^this is. Sh*t bro--that number--I will let your doc explain it.

Found This

"Some medications such as anabolic steroids used by athletes can cause a high hematocrit count. Some athletes want an increased hematocrit level since this means they have more red blood cells available to supply their muscles with oxygen during athletic events. To get their hematocrit level up, some athletes train at high altitudes or take anabolic steroids. Diuretics can also elevate hematocrit levels by promoting loss of fluid volume - causing red blood cells to be more concentrated."

High Hemoglobin Causes
There are a number of causes and symptoms of high hemoglobin levels. They are -
  • Smoking
  • Living at high altitudes
  • Heart disease
  • Anabolic steroid usage
  • Pulmonary fibrosis
  • Polycythemia vera - bone marrow disease where the body produces too many red blood cells.

So here are 2 articles that I found stating that anaboloic steroids cause high hemaglobin and high hematocrit levels. Still don't know if this is something I should be concerned about.

Your levels are out of normal range, but not terribly high, and you are still only 6 weeks out from your cycles end. I would suspect that these will return to more of a normal range over time while you are not cycling. The way to be sure would be another blood test in another 6-8 weeks and see if things have normalized or at least began moving in the right direction. I would definitely keep an eye on things and make sure you can get things in normal ranges before cycling again....particularly hematacrit

yes it is normal to have kidney and heart strain from AAS. but your levels are really high to the point i would be concerned with dying or ending up in the hospital

how bad a shape are you in? are you overweight?

i would come off roids for a while unless you are willing to risk your life
