Shin Splints

does anyone get them from playing sports?? damn i get them bad from playing ball hockey

I get the same thing from running although its not shin splints in my case, its what I believe is anterior compartment syndrome although I have not had the pressure inside the shins tested.
Its freaking worse if Im taking anything that increases "pumps". That feels good if Im lifting, fucking huge, go heavy or go home lol.
But with repetitive use the pump in the front of my shins in running causes the blood to swell the muscle tissue. The "pump" makes the muscle larger than the surround fascia allows preventing proper blood flow.
Rather than have the fascia split open with surgery I deal with it but I dont know for how long.
It is amazing painful, like there is no blood reaching my muscle causing shin ischemia.

Not much I can do about but not run if Im taking anything that gives me pumps

until i got use to running in rugby cleats i had them fucking bad,it killed, i just used cie and keep stretching and they went away

I've never had them, but my friend gets them from running. He says there a real bitch. I don't know what there like, but they don't sound good.

thats what i think mine is actually , shit is painfull

I can't run. They are so bad in my legs my tibia could get stress fractures. So I have to use an elliptical.

For me its horrible, I can actually see veins popping out the front of my calves. The pain is lack of bloodflow I believe.
Ive had shin splints before, this is different.

mine feel like they could pop at any minute

also if i do any hardcore runnin or play ball for a few hours it is painful to walk for about a week or two . stress fractures maybe?

Anterior compartment syndrome is different than skeletal-muscular-tissue issues that last a long time.
This is primarily filling up the tissue with blood but the surrounding fascia (tissue) wont allow to properly expand. I cant think of an analogy but perhaps think of a ball park frank plumping in the oven, thats your muscle filling with blood. Now I guess think of a big busted girl in a small bra.
It prevents proper blood flow, hence its short lived. The pump goes down and it goes away.
It can be a combination, but ACS is short lived mainly unless its severe and you are taking AAS is my guess.

This is the most pathetic fucking thread I have ever seen! What an absolute fucking waste of manhood! Why don't you just go fucking choke yourself and do the population a favor and save us from another pussified male! Either that or move to San Fransisco.

I can just hear your whiny bitch voice squealing, "im gonna go put ice on....blah blah blah" What a little bitch!! You make me sick.

read up on anterior compartment syndrome. I suspect its more common with peope who may use anabolic steroids, not saying you or anyone does and there is no research confirming that but the muscle does expand with the use of AAS and outgrows the "sheath" around limiting cardiovascular repetitive use needing a procedure, basically like gutting a fish to open up the pressure to allow the muscle and vasculature to function properly.

do NOT fuck with Stickfigure lately, he is taken a huge and great turn from this :qt: :qt: :qt: :qt: all day long.
I applaud his persona change back to the original stickfigure, nice but mean

Oddly, stretching out your calves can help a lot with shin splints. A tight calf can put a lot of tension on the shin muscles. Stretching out the calves can reduce that tension and the aches are reduced.
