shelf life of sunblock?

i recently discovered an almost full bottle of sunblock in a dark corner of the bathroom closet..it's been there for 3 years.

does this stuff loose it's effectiveness over time or is it still good to use on my pale male skin?

Well, one exception ... does not apply to foreskin protection.
