Shaving

I have started shaven often in past couple months and i have been getting razor burn around my neck. I cant shave back to back or it gets too irritated. I was wondering what shaving cream, blades, after shave you use? I use gillete sensor excel because even though it doesnt cut as close as the mach 3, it doesnt irritate me as much...havent tried the new mach 3 though....Use noxzema sensitive skin shaving cream which i love....and put Nuetrogena razor defense after shave....also I shave 99% of the time right after i shower so that my face is wet from hot water...

If I shave daily I am fine, most razor burn is ingrown hairs going back into the skin so shaving daily will get them, now I use Bic sensitive skin disposable razors and gillette sensitive skin foam, not gel, what started off as my mom buying me foam instead of gel has lead to no more razor burn.

Use some really high quality clippers with no guard. 100 times better than shaving, no razor bumps and fewer ingrown hairs.

clippers on facial hair? i cant see how you would get a nice close shave with clippers???!!!

wet your face down with cold water. use shaving cream that is for sensitive skin, and really work into your beard before you shave. a moisturizer will help, and dont use after shave that has alcohol in it, that will dry out your skin, and imo make it worse.

thats what i do now when i shave my head and face, and its working well for me. i would always get horrible razor burn to the point where i dreaded shaving becuase my whole face would be red and sting for a day or two.

i also use an electric shaver for most of my shaving now. its the one by norelco that has the shaving gel thingy, it works pretty well. but i still make sure i have plenty of cold water on the area im shaving.

You dont get a close shave. My bf uses clippers w/o a guard to get that stubble effect. Does look kinda sexy, but no you cant get a real close shave.

cold water? i always thought hot water softened the stubble better. i'll give that a try though.

i used to use hot water, but i found cold water worked better for me.

Try and find some stuff called "Tend Skin" at a drug store or www.tendskin.com. I have the same problem and hate shaving. My girlfriend got me this to use and it helped with the razor burn & ingrowns

Tend Skin- great stuff. You can make it, though.

Glycerin, Witch Hazel, uncoated aspirin. costs about 10% of what they charge in the store.
