shaving for maximum definition

i get ingrown hairs all the time when i shave my chest and stomach.

is there a trick to this or am i just screwed.

Your screwed....so am I though. I get them bad on my arms and chest. I've stopped sheaving my chest because of them. I've tried everything and nothing seems to work.

i get them on my stomach and in places where the hair is really coarse... hypothetically, some of those products that claim to make your hair thinner would probably help because the hair would in turn be less coarse

I've got the same problem. Use an electric hair razor on it's lowest setting, it cuts pretty close and doesn't bother me at all...

There are a few things to do to avoid razor burn and ingrown hairs.

Use alot of hot water to soften the hair, and maybe even some conditioner before putting on the shave cream.

Always use a brand new, or almost new razor blade. I like the Mach3.

Don't shave over the same area to much. Try to do it in one pass if possible.

Don't shave too often, let the hair grow a bit before re-shaving.

Get plenty of sun.

I have the most sensitive skin, but if all do all of the above, I avoid most razor burn and ingrown hairs.

its strange with me. I can shave my arms, stomach, and chest and have no problems. yet I get ingrown hairs all over my neck from shaving, and you cant hide that shit.

Try witch hazel. You can find it in the health and beauty at Walmart. This will help tremendously.

Yes there is a trick and no your not screwed .Try some kind of clippers they will not cut the hair under the skin and you will not get the ingrown hairs .Ofcorse you dont get as close of a shave but its worth it because you dont get the bumps . It works for me give it a try .
