shattered amp and sliced thumb.

The other day I'm trying to open my kharaki sust. Usually they just pop right openly with the cleanest break. I hold it in my hand and just snap it with my thumb.

Well this amp the other day wouldn't budge...So I try to score it a bit with a knife. Than try to pop it open again. The entire top shatters in peices and cuts directly into my thumb.

So I hand to get glass out of my finger and than wrap up my thumb to stop the bleading, but luckily no glass that I could tell got into the liquid.

I'll be using a t-shirt to wrap the amp with next time and hopefully this won't happen again.

I can care less about cutting my thumb, it's the risk of lossing the gear which worries me.

Next time, throw a pen cap over the top of the amp, and then just snap it off...this never fails...but if it does, you won't slice your hand.

when I used omnas I used a hand towel over it,Im sure I could have got away without it ,but why risk cutting yourself

u can use a glass cutting file from the hard ware store to open them if u dont want to wait for an amp opener to come

LOL...you spit out the top? I just stick the whole thing in my mouth and chew until the glass cuts this shit out of my gums and tongue...that way the juice gets absorbed right into the bloodstream through the cuts.

My advice was for newbies who aren't man enough to use this method...

I used toilet papper. All I did was grabbed a couple squares folded it into a small square and then folded that over the top of the amp broke it off and the flushed the crushed top. the sust I got crushed every time and unfortunately I learned the hard way to as my thumb bleed all over the bath room lol.

This is why I use a piece of tissue to wrap around the amp before I break it.

i dont like the idea of opening glass amps with towels, toilet paper, etc. those items are not sterile, and if particles leak into the juice in the process of breaking the amp, i dont think it would be good to inject that shit. i'd invest the money in an amp opener.
