Excuse me, Hispanics are the fastest growing race in this country....they will be the majority race by 2010. Why do you think Bush is sucking up to them for votes now? Republicans NEVER even went into Hispanic neighborhoods a few years ago.......now, Bush is making statements to win their vote. I'm glad Fox called him on fulfilling that lie, he can't very well do that, not anytime soon.

I agree but what america has to do is get the mexican economy growing so it can have a middle class. When that happens and it will happen---we will have open borders with mexico and that will only make america that much greater. Fox has the right idea but he has to get a middle class in mexico before he can have open borders like he wants.

MEChA Pushes Radical Agenda on Campuses

The group is called MEChA., which stands for Moviemento Estudantil Chicana/o de Aztlan. Headquartered in San Antonio, MEChA is a national Chicano organization founded Santa Barbara, California in April 1968. MEChA boasts over 400 chapters at colleges and universities across the country, including the University of California at Berkeley, the University of San Diego, the University of Arizona, the University of Michigan, and Cornell University.

What does MEChA stand for that is so radical? They express contempt for people of European ancestry and advocate returning Texas and the other Southwestern U.S. states to Mexico. Their "El Plan Espiritual de Aztlán" (which can be found at the MEChA website) declares:

Perhaps the most ominous statement on the University of Texas MEChA webpage is "For La Raza to do. Fuera de La Raza nada." One can deduce that this nonsensical mix of Spanish and English means "Por La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada." In English, this means "for our race everything, for those outside our race nothing."

hispanics are the fastest growing race in the houston metro area. im almost sure they are not the fastest growing in the US.
they are close to 32% of tx population, whereas whites make up about 53%. so they will be majority in 2010, it is projected.
as far as the US hispanics are only 12% of the population, whites make up about 70%. i think blacks makeup about 12% also.
to me it would seem like whites are still producing more due to thier numbers.
sheer numbers are: whites=200mil. roughly
hispanics=32mil. roughly

i know republicans havnt catered to the hispanics, but bush has hispanic family members and is bi-lingual. he may be sincere on this one. i dont know, we'll see.

Bush didn't push for opening the borders while he was governor, nor did he show any attention to hispanics until he started running for office.

you may be right, id like to see that link, if they are the fastest growing per capita in the US they still will not pass up the white race nationally.

projection for 2015, whites=202mil, hispanics=44mil. according to US census bureau.


as far as bush i think time will tell. im not sure if we can assume the hispanics are a voting block anyway. hispanic are largely made up of mexicans, but there are perto ricans, cubans, central and south americans in the hispanic category. id almost be willing to say that the black community is a stronger voting block.

whites=15mil roughly
hispanics=11mil roughly

just checked this thread again....sorry forgot about the link...again......you're right they won't pass whites....but their vote is very important. To ignore them would be foolish....but to pretend that you're interested in them just for the vote is shallow. the black vote is not as strong...for a lot of reasons. The hispanics are going to continue to band together, and the incidents such as the bombings in Puerto Rico, the refusal to stop immediately will probably haunt Bush come election time. If they can't be heard now, they will be heard then. Most of the cities here in Texas have minority dominated population...Houston, S. A. , Dallas, Corpus, Austin.
