Sex?

Should I refrain from sex proir to workouts? My only concern is that it would have some sort of affect on my hormone levels which would affect my workout? Maybe im nuts.
 
According to Olympic training coaches, having sex prior to your performance (on the field) is a personal choice. As many believe in having sex the night before, as those who believe in NOT having sex.

Bottom line, if you feel it affects your performance in a negative way, then don't. If you feel that it affects your performance in a positive way, then do.

Many athletes feel sex prior to competing helps them to focus and concentrate.

Quite frankly, I'd take sex over excersise any day of the week.

I'm pretty sure your test levels would drop, prior to ejaculation. However, you could always get aroused, have your girl tease you a lot, then go train. Come back and tear her apart. ;) Works well. You'll be so eager to go afterwards.

Although this probably isn't recommended on leg day, for those of you that do once a week splits.

that nonsense, they dont drop at all. if they did itd be a few points, not enough to effect a workout, or for you to even notice.

i was curious about this and i heard the answer on a talk radio program LoveLine, im pretty sure is nation wide, its on Q101 in chicago. ya, Dr Drew said thats bogus
 
I have sex the morning of every meet as well as the night before...it relaxes me and I make sure it's at least 2-3 hrs before I lift...I have had no adverse reaction other than wanting to eat junk food and watch tv...

The show is hilarious and you hear some very interesting stories from the callers, while learning a thing or two. It's actually based out of KROQ 106.7 in LA and nationally syndicated. Adam Corolla of Crank Yankers and formerly the Man Show is the other co-host. It's streamed on the internet on 91X, San Diego's website; check it out. I sound like a goddamn advertisement. Oh well, I grew up listening to that show and I love it!
