Service Pack 2 Sucks!

I've finally given up on it and I am reinstalling windows on my other computer.

My 2 DVD burners which were burning at 4X started only burning at 2.8X even with the latest firmware. My resource needy programs start making things run slow. My AMD XP 2400 processor w/ 1GB of Ram started running like a 500mhz PIII.

wow. I have a DVD burner but I've only burned CDs so far. I have XP on a 1.6ghz Shuttle mini w/256MB RAM and a dual Xeon 1.8ghz w/1GB RAM. It's fairly snappy on both.

I am enjoying SP2 immensly so far. I have it installed on all my machines, and my install disk for XP even installs it by default now.

Most of the problems I have ran into so far have been driver related, which are easily fixable.


I kinda wonder how this is going to turn out, if SP2 will eventually become the new standard, or if it will be the microsoft patch that goes to waste.
