I don't consider myself big by any standards, so I'm posting in here because there are some big people and I value their opinion.

I honest to goodness am out of clothes. I went to try to find some this weekend, and no dice. It was just one thing after another that did not fit. It's getting to the point where I can wear workout stuff or tailored dress clothes. Then again, I could just wear shorts all year round

I do not have one pair of jeans that are not painted on and look retarded. I have 3 t-shirts that actually "fit". At 6"3 and now 250, I still want a lot more weight but this is getting out of hand.

I know I can go buy levi's, but I'm trying to have some style here. Is there anyone who has a good idea on brands or lines that would fit? I cannot imagine what big people have to do to find stuff. Thanks in advance to all who have some good input.

Buying clothes are a pain in the ass....none of that Ambercrombie & Bitch crap for us...lol.

You have to shop around. I think Lucky jeans brand have good fits, but i'm only 6ft, so not too sure about your height.

Shit, I wear my Dickies 90% of the time anyway.

Try being 6'5" and 280#! I'll gladly spend $200 to have an "Athletic Cut-Tall" business suit tailored but I balk at $8 per Tee-shirt and $40 for a set of scrubs!

its ridiculous

want a good laugh? Go into a trendy store like Hollister or Abercrombie and Fitch and see if anything will fit.

typical clothes are made for typical americans mcdonalds super sized stomachs and slouched computer shoulders. I rember years ago I had to attend a wedding i'm big by no means i'm short 5'8 .I went to rent a suit the guy measured me and told me he had never seen a drop like mine chest was 48 inches and waiste was 31 with 17 1/2 neck he simply said i dont have anything to fit you . he told me a typical person 5'8 has a 34-36 inch waiste and a 38-42 inch chest and thats if they are in decent shape.I tried on some of the shirts and sure enough everything that fited my neck and shoulders was baggy has hell around the midsection. he ended up sending me to a custom taylor and i paid 450$ for a suit with slacks (thighs were 26 inches so the pants had to be cutom made to avoid the saggy but look with over sized pants) and shirt. but It was worth every penny becuase it fit like a glove in the midsection and really made my shoulders look great and the vtaper was awsome.
On that note i dont think your gonna be able to get around it cutom clothes cost alot of money if you want to look good no way around it.

You just have to shop around if you're not looking to get tailor-made stuff.... jeans and pants are always a problem... to find legs that will fit, you have to go up in waist size... you can go to most dry cleaners and they can alter the pants for ya at the waist... I remember A&F had a line of jeans (Ezra?) and they were especially made for guys like us

Max Muscle makes Jeans. They are cut big in the legs..cool look too. There is a BB clothing line but it escapes me......this should be on the fashion board but as not many folks there I will leave this a bit.

Q.

i'm not the biggest guy at 5'10" 230 but not small either... i've found lee usually has jeans that fit me - but i tend to buy slightly looser fits cause i'm fed up of climbing on my bike and ripping my pants right in the crotch.

I can fit into abercrombie and fitch and hollister & co. They make some baggy/boot jeans and its in style. They are starting to carry limited lines of XXL. I just bought 3 XXL shirts there about a month ago.(A&F) I have the same problem as you and quite a few others.. XL is too tight, and XXL shirts wear like capes. Jeans are another story.. Try those two stores..

Try prada or hugo boss too. They make shirts in limited quanities too in the larger sizes. Jeans, not too sure..

For dress clothes, Brooks’s brothers, Nordstrom’s, POLO, all custom make anything,

Also, depending upon where you live a good tailor will make anything.

For casual, again Brooks Brothers, Nordstrom’s and POLO

Suits are the hardest and easiest, they are expensive, and shirts are a pain unless you have them made,

I am 5’5” inches and have a 44 inch chest, so suits 44 & 46 short,

Faconnable, from France, is good about tailoring.

In southern California there are about 100 places to go, and spend as much or as little as you have to.

We have such a large Asian population, and there are a lot of tailors from Asia.

Shit bro, try Ross and Factory 2U. Both of them get tons of XXL and XXXL stuff cuz they get what other retailers can't sell. Sports Authority Makes really durable T shirts. I had a couple XXXL t shirts from there that lasted 4 yrs. You just need to shop around and find brands that don't cater to pencilnecks exclusively. If you really wanna be a true poser, go to Mexico. They sell name brand tags that you can sew on your clothes. That way you can buy a $12 shirt for fat asses at Wal Mart, sew a Tommy Jeans symbol on the left tit, and now your t-shirt looks like you paid $50 for it. lol

I find it funny all those underarmour commericals with all the big football players in there wearing those shirts. I tried on a XXL and couldnt even get into it, what a joke..

That has to be tough, sorry to hear.

I'm trying not to bitch b/c I am very happy that size is going up, it's just more of an issue that I expected.

Thanks for all the input so far. Up till this point, I had been able to buy nicer jeans (sevens, paper denim, ag), I just had to buy a 40in waist and have them tailored down in the waist. Now, this is not working either.

Dress clothes are easy, I can find stuff big enough and have it look good. What I'm having problems with is the day to day clothes to wear to work, out to dinner, out with the girl, etc.

Stuff like Hugo/Prada stopped fitting me about 20lbs ago, so I doubt it will fit now :)

Quad, thanks for leaving this here. I know it's a "style" question, but there are more people on this forum with the same problem than over there.

Believe it or not, I have 3 prada shirts that still fit. They are made with this stretchy cotton material, and still fit awesome. But yeah, most dont fit big guys worth a shit. Thats why you always see skinny guys modeling their clothes. The jeans, forget about it.. All they make is straight leg..

Welcome to the wonderful world of needing custom tailored clothes. The real bitch is that as you continue to grow the clothes that you have custom made will no longer fit....and you're constantly forced to buy everything, again. That's not such a big deal for casual wear, but business attire gets expensive.

I agree with Mr. BMJ. Lucky Brand jeans have good fits, but I'm also 6. I weigh 238lbs and don't have any problems with them being tight in the legs. I do have prblems with collared shirts though. I haven't found any yet that fit good and not to loose at the bottom. Yeah we all have problems with clothing, but it's definately a good problem. :)

Last time I checked on Lucky Brand, they were ridiculously overpriced..

Ya, the dress clothes are not cheap, but I've gotten some good deals in the past and I can at least find stuff.

I have worn lucky's in the past (high school). I don't think the styles have changed much. Price isn't really an issue as they are cheaper than what I was used to paying, I will have to see if I can find anything there.

Collared shirts, ya those have to be tailored to look right. Good news, only about $20 to have that done and look good.

just had to have my suitsd taylored for work need at least a size 52 r blazer but i am only 5'11" so the arms are like 3 feet too long

If i buy a suit at a regular Big&Tall store, I'll end up with a 60" Jacket with a 50" waist for the pants, - sux

I buy 36in waist Nautica Jeans and they fit pretty well ( in some cuts ). Gap sucks. Some old Navy is wearable and cheap.

just got my first suit for this internship i have...fuck man...they tailored that bitch up...they were like...your neck and shoulders are way to big for your waist...my chick was there and i was like...can you say that again a little louder...haha

Thanks, and although I "could've" tried the Pro circuit a few years ago - I think I'm a little "old" at 33 to start PACKING on the weight needed to compete at that level................So if I can't compete, I'd rather be lean - w/LOW bf, and "good" size................
