Just curios but, why do threads get locked? I thought it was for being offensive or something which I understand, however I have seen some that are not offensive at all but they get locked. Is there some sort of criteria for threads being locked?

This is not a K thread I really want to know why but no mod has posted a reply yet. Do they have a mod hand book we don't know about? These are just things I wonder sometimes when I am bored out of my head.
