serious question no mean to disrespect

Most powerlifters arent fat, they just arent concerned about their appearance for the most part.

not fat but u know what i mean.....they are stocky and big but have very high bf%.....does having high bf% help to lift more?

Well, fat for fats sake isnt the ultimate strength tool, but it does aid in overall body strength and power.

Because they always and/or only bulk and never cut, because it is never in their interest to look cut, and cutting can cost muscle.

Also, some bodyfat and water weight tends to keep muscles and joints from tearing. Thats why you see alot of bodybuilders in competition shape tearing muscles on baby weights. The muscle and tendons are unprotected. JMO

the extra weight adds leverage as well

Not all of them, in the lighter weight divisions, some are quite lean. They need to stay in their wieght classes

makes sense thanks

and i know not all are fat ive met some pretty lean ones:)

The ones you see getting the most talked about world records are nearly always in the SHW catagory, ie they don't have to worry about their weight, and as we all know it's much easier to get strong if you can eat as much as you want
