I feel lately im getting alot stronger but im also scared im overtraining. I know everyone is different but if your eating alot and getting enought rest is is really a big deal?

If you are still gaining strength, then you are probably not overtraining.

Yes it is just as important as lifting.

You gain the muscle while you are resting, and you need food to grow.

Im totally NOT strict about overtraining/
in fact I havent been to the gym in months just because I want to be sure I dont overtrain

my schedule only lets me lift monday thru thursday at the gym and somedays come monday if i still feel so sore and beat i take another day off. like all the whey said you grow while you rest. some days ill take four days off then get back to it, maybe my body takes longer to re cover who knows.

I train 9 hours a day 7 days a week and keep losing strength.. so I am about to just do it 12 hours a day

Overtraining? Underrecovering? Undereating?.. resting? Take your pic. It's a delicate balance of everything combined, with effort in the gym, which takes us to our goals.

I used to "undereat" many years ago and never understood why I was always ripped but never got "big muscles". NOW I know it was undereating/overtraining.

You need the perfect mix.

Test your heart rate upon waking in the morning. If it's higher than duriong the day at rest, that is one sign of overtraining. I think that's how I remember it.

Also, if you THINK you're on the verge of overtraining, than a week off from the gym will do ZERO harm, but could help tremendously.
