whole leg muscle spasms and how it relates to the spine

all muscle groups involved except feet

quads, hams and calf
stenosis? in the spinal column space? or a herniation into the sciatic nerve?

Ive forgotten a lot of this stuff but I know I remember different areas of the leg (saddle for instance) is associated with different disc spaces...so how is the entire leg spasming..
one spasm setting off other spasms?

  • MayoClinic.com states that the compression of nerves as they exit the spinal cord can lead to leg muscle cramps
  • Spinal nerves can be compressed by conditions that affect the spinal column, which include osteoarthritis, a herniated disk and spinal tumor.
  • These primary conditions affect spinal nerves that run from the back to the legs, which may cause an involuntary cramp-like pain in the legs.
