y should it be a holiday?

what about the okc bombing?

the la riots?

VT school shooting?

Columbine? Why don't we just take the whole year off and never work
Shit, now you're talking!!!

Ahhh, about the same amount of people died in Pearl Harbor, we go to work then.

Besides, if we're going to start having holidays commemorating catastrophes/loss of life then they'll HAVE to give American Indians a federal holiday, so it ain't never gonna happen.

a holiday is some thing celebrate.I hardly think its something to celebrate

Not necessarily. They are also for commemoration.

Two very important holidays for Magyars are 15 MAR and 25 OCT (at least I think it is the 25th of OCT, how embarrassing for ME!). Both holidays commemorate important times of battle for Magyar people... The October rememberance is from 1956 when the civilians tried to fight off Russian tanks (communism)... unsuccessfully, but dammit they tried regardless of how the US promised to help... but DID NOT.

I dunno if 11 SEP should necessarily commemorated as it wasn't a positive thing for the US. I think that there should definitely be memorials and the date NEEDS to be remembered as Americans should pause and realize they are not as free as they had falsely been led to believe all these years. T'was tragic indeed, but no less tragic then all the other tragedies that go on regularly in many places around the world.

Isn't it true you shouldn't feed a Magyar after midnight?

I received a chain letter type of email from a family member. It is about keeping the kids home from school today, in hopes that people will realize that today should be a holiday. I agree, although I cannot miss school therefor my son cannot either....However, I think it is bullshit we can celebrate dead presidents birthdays and stupid shit but all we get today is a moment of prayer and a million re-caps of the devastation that happened to this country...I think that it should be a federal national holiday!!!!!
what do you think
Nope, what do you really do to "celebrate " dead presidents birthdays? I will admit that in a lot of ways I'm very desensitized to things that most people get emotional about. I realize that, yes something happened 6 yrs ago on this date, but It doesn't change what I do today. I'm not going to walk around all day with my head hung low feeling all sad, and somehow devote everything I do today to the "9/11" victims. It is unfortunate what happened to anybody that died that day and there families. I'll just stop now.
