Sent gear U.P.S.?

Yesterday I went to Mexico and bought about $500 worth of gear. Took it to UPS in a box and asked for next day delivery. The counter person and the manager (i guess) went into the back. Then they came out asked what was in it and looked conserned. They slapped the stickers on the box and put it into the bin labled Sat delivery. I played it cool but now i am worried about when they come to deliver it. What do you think I should do?

Don't answer the door when the feds bring your package..Bro mexico is hot right now I don't know if I would have risked it..To many other places to get gear...Hopefully it turns out ok maybe the dude at UPS was thinkg you looked concerned too..Your mind can play tricks on you when ur breaking the law..Im always on freaking before my package comes..Human nature to worry...Let us know when ur stuff arrives..

Yeah my mind has had me worried all day. Tracking number says it has been sent out and in transit. I guess i will just wait and see what or who comes to deliver it.

If you sent your package from Mexico via UPS or FEDEX they need the recipeint's signature in the U.S. Unless you wanna roll the dice, you'll never know whether is a controlled delivery or not. The reason they asked what was in the package is because private carriers must fill out a customs declaration before any goods enter into the U.S. through private carriers. A U.S custom agent takes a look at the declaration form, and decides whether the package is worth a thouroughly inspection or not. Unlike regular coming from abroad, FEDEX and UPS go through random checks all the time.

Kiss your gear goodbye!!! :wavey:

Next time use MEXPOST (Mexican Post Office) which works the same as USPS. Just bring all your shipping supplies with you for your own convenience.

Is there any way to tell if they caught it? Will they send an undercover agent for that little amount? What if i watch to see when they deliver if anyone is with them? If it has been tampered with i am going to decline.

There's no way to know if they caught it.
Dunno for that little amount, but anything could happen. I know that you may get a seizure letter from customs or they may attempt a controlled delivery. If you get the letter is no biggie. If you get the controlled delivery, you can't tell whether is a setup or not. Most of the time, the driver/delivery guy is an undercover cop, so even if you scan the area for suspiscious activity you'll have no clue, since you have no idea who the UPS driver is or who o what is inside of his truck.

This what my friend Mr. Idiot did in the very same situation:
He left a note at his door saying "UPS: please leave package at the door". He Waited for the delivery guy to leave the package, and once the package was left at his door he took a very very (i mean very) good look at the package for signs of tampering. If looks good, he wrote on it "not at this address". However he Didn't open it yet. Waited for at least 2 or 3 days, then he took his package for a car ride in the middle of the night or at least whenever was easier for him to detect if he was being followed. He said he had his attorney's phone number handy just in case. I still wander in case of what?
He Opened the package as he was driving, then kept driving for 10 more mins and then went home. The lucky S.O.B never got busted. Next day he was cool and laughing, he told me that next time he was going to use the "common sense".

Anyway, just don't forget that the procedure described above is what my friend Mr. Idiot did. It's up to you to give it a try.

Fuck i can't believe i'm doing this!!!!

Ohh I assume that you know what to do if the package shows signs of tampering or they want you to go to the UPS store to claim your packaged. But if you still don't know, use Mr. Idiot's common sense. (whatever that's suppose to mena) :coffee:

Keep us updated. I'll right you some letters if you get locked up. Next time just take it over the border bro. Alot easier that way.

With all the heat in Mexico and all the sources around, why in the world would you do this????? :worried:

UPS and FedEx aren't bound by the same laws USPS is. imo, just sign for it and take it. If you don't sign for it, and they "hold it for 2 weeks" they may try to destroy the package thereafter if they cant return to sender. When oil leaks out of the package, they may get suspicious. Then shits creek, you are up, my friend.

As an added precaution to see if you're being followed, make 3 consecutive right turns while carefully scoping your rear view mirror. By basically driving in a circle you can be pretty sure if you're being followed or not-especially late at night/early AM when fewer vehicles are on the road. If the same car is following you after turn #3, you might want to think twice about stopping to do your business.

There is no way that I would sign for the package. Just bite the bullet and shop somewhere else. Not worth the risk, believe me, the would love to hem you up.
