I've always considered myself ot be not as good as i'd like to be in this necessary quality. For those of you who consider yourselves good at it, what do you do. i just talked to someone who is 10x worse than me at it, and i never want to end up like her.

Please don't say something stupid like 'just do it' or a sports drink slogan or something. I'd prefer something tangible (workable).
 
swami says: how's this for tangible, everytime you do something you told yourself that you shouldnt do, shoot a large penny nail through your foot into a hard wood floor somewhere in your house. eventually, you will get tired of nailing your foot to the floor and stop doing stupid shit. see if that works.
 
Take five needles and cut them down to about 1/4 inch each and melt a flat back on to the dull end, not the pointy end. Then tape the needle tips to your fingers. Whenever you start to do something you do not want to do slap yourself on the thigh really hard with the needle tips.
 
I dunno how to explain it. I guess if you want something bad enough, you will do what is necessary to get it. For instance, bodybuilding. you want results? you need to do what is needed. Good diet, train hard, stay away from alcohol, smoking, eating junk. It just comes naturally.
