Seen V for Vendetta twice yesterday....

Fascinating the first time.

Not fast enough action to warrant seeing it back to back. I missed some words the first time but I missed them again the second time.

Movie is dark. The heroine is beautiful. The ideas are fascinating. The action is exceptional....where there is action. You would expect that from the makers of the Matrix series.

I'll see it again on DVD so I can play it back and forth and figure everything out.

Very ballsy movie for a huge corporation like Time Warner to release. Wonder what got into them. I am guessing that AOL knows what is up with the incroaching police state.

"Remember, remember the 5th of November." Interesting that that particular date was chosen.

Sean Vendetta? Wasn't he a punter for the New York Giants. LOL

Boooo....

I saw it last night. It's going to cause some interesting reactions. I'm pretty amazed in the irony that there are huge protests going on all over the world right now that have no connection to the movie.

The crowds looked pretty strong as I was leaving.

Its a powerful movie. Much of the dialogue will go right the heads of much of our audience.

I'm guessing you left out the word "over"? If the dialogue is too sophisticated for ignorant, lazy plebians, then great. Most movies appeal to the lowest common demonator anyway.

As for the apparent message of the movie, fucking awesome. We need real, articulate criticism of the erosion of personal freedom in the name of national security.

That would be the message of this movie.

In spite of this movie and dozens of well researched and articulated books, we are one big terrorist act away from a true police state.

I suspect it may come when we march into Iran.

I wanna see that movie also
Natalie portman is very pretty but thats not why i wanna see it lol

It was written to burn Thatcher...but it roasts W pretty nicely.

More of a portrayal of why a free country would accept a police state...and the dangers of this police state.

The effort to educate is strong.

I really really liked it and would like to see it again. It's one of those that you'd appreciate even more the 2nd time around.

:lmao:

The first time 2 people have sex they're just starting to figure out how they pair up. After that it just gets better....unless the first round was so bad that you just never call him back because you can't look him in the eye after enduring that nonsense. lol

the first poem that he recites to portman is just ridiculously tight.. gave me a boner.. i need to watch it again so i can catch everything..

It's the top grossing film this weekend and did pretty well overall. I may go see it again later this week. V is my kinda guy.

I highly doubt there will be a sequel as the Warchowskis should now know better from the Matrix Trilogy, and because the graphic novel doesn't leave any room for a sequel that I am aware of (I've not read it, only discussed it with friends who were fans).

I honestly think the only people who will dislike it are hardcore fans of the graphic novel and those with conservative leanings.

I, for one, enjoy some of the more Jeffersonian elements of it.

wow, looks like great reviews. i hope it's a better matrix copy than "the island"!
although scarlett johanssen omg.

It will be even better than the first Matrix movie for some (due to much better acting and dialogue).

And I know a lotta guys on here say that Natalie Portman looks like a 10 yr. old boy, but she has a moment in the movie that would make a lot of guys on here change their minds...lol

I think it will enjoy a cultish status. Some will love it and keep a Faust mask hidden away.

The uninformed will scratch their heads and say ... wtf?
