especially where i work at i dont know about other jobs...i do construction type work and deal with alot of those types. all they seem to care about is gettin fucked up or drunk, seems like they have no goals or trying to learn anything new. i feel totally out of place with these people i need to get another job been doing framing houses and construction work for a few years. are all people at your jobs seem this way too? but im not here to say im good and there bad all i really care about is getting real cut looking more inshape than anyone without steroids and being able to get any girlie i want :) and just maintaining that status maybe even take up stripping one day, its defintily easier money than this bullshit im doing now. at least the one constant from every body i work with or about 70 percent is always checken out a fine girl or talking about pussy now thats always cool, not many people taking care of themselves it seems maybe its just an nc thing

Damn those people, working hard for a living then going out to the bar to get fucked up and laid after work. Somebody aught to tell them they have no life.

i dont think they actually get laid. i think most of them lie about it. alot of the guys drink together every day after work at the shop. i guess i cant really blame them i would be doing the same thing if i didnt lift and actually gettin ass and not just talking about it

What people lack are dreams. It is nice to have them, and some are not as major as others, but to have a goal and work for it is what matters.

At every job I have ever worked, 99% of the people have been like how you describe. Content with thier lot in life. Happy to just go home and watch TV, screw thier fat wife, and drink a brew. Year after year, they remain the same.

I like to learn. To Grow and change as time goes by. Perhaps I am restless, or insecure or whatever. Whatever I am, I like it, because it makes me try for things others dont. Obviously I am trying to grow in strength and size. I have other dreams too, so many that I cannot possibly follow through with them all. But I will try. Like that old axiom goes: "Shoot for the moon, if you miss, at least you will be out amongst the stars." I wish to be a full time Author some day, I love to read, watch movies, I plan on taking martial arts in the near future. Go to school and get a degree in History and Literature, take Fencing. I want to learn to Box, compete in either a powerlifting comp or strongman some day. I want to travel the world and see the ancient wonders, and stand in awe of thier genius. I absolutely love camping and hiking. I am trying to get a friend into bowery, making bows and arrows and learning to hunt with them.

Well, they, and whoever wants it, can have the sex, and settle down with some woman that will get fat and nasty, raise some twerpy kids and die in obsurity knowing the greatest thing they did was bowl a 200 in the hometown league.* I will abstain from settling down with the first thing that comes along and find me a woman that shares my ambition.

*Just a Hyperbole folks, not saying that all kids are twerpy or not worth raising.

I go to vo-tech for building trades. A lot of the kids talk about doing drugs, and getting smashed. I'm friends with them all, but it just ain't my bag.

I love the contract work I'm learning to do. After the Marines I'm going to go into the Carpenter's Union, open a contracting business with my brother in time.

My 5 yearplan consists of not dying [though probably everyone has that goal], getting a puppy, and buying my own house with a decent sized back yard. Eventually excavate 2 stories deep, and build on an addition with what would be a dual basement. The bottom basement would be a gym, an office, and perhaps a room where I could make my own wine.

Down the line I'd like to own some land, and a house up the mountains where I can hunt deer with a bolt action rifle.

A lot of details within of course. It's those goals that keep me working hard day in and day out.

Nice post epimetheus. Wish i knew english so well to make posts like that.

I do not think lack of dreams is the problem for most people. We ALL dream of doing things, but so few try ever to make them happen. I was a mental health counselor in Holland and so many people i saw felt there life was disapointing to them and felt bad of themselves for not doing things they wanted to do.

However if "setting down" is what a person truly wants then they ARE living there dreams. Just a different sort of dream.....not better or worse.

id like to maybe have a son someday. all the stuff about training and nutrition i know he would be playing pro sports for shure. you are right nobody has dreams. i kinda wanna be better then everyone especially in weightlifting and physic wise but being natural also not being the biggest roid freak but the best looking inshape natural freak. i want to marry a woman someday that is into fitness as much as me and one that seeks perfection in it like me. i will never settle for average or just normal in anything i do. im always looking to accomplish something keep setting higher standards. but until i find that right one ill just keep doing what makes me happy....lifting wieghts, gettin up with new girls, bangin them sometimes, oh yeah masterbation hehehehe

magdelena- i just couldnt picture myself just being satisfied with just"setting down". i think i can be totally satisfied one day with the right woman. but it doesnt seem verypossible i think i will always be wanting more and more out of life im greedy i suppose i want the best of everything. i want to try and just really get my body into ultimate conditioning and snowball into bigger and better things by the grace of god, like modeling or playing a pro sport or something i think i can do it. i guess being an independent person you could miss out on true love because your so busy working on yourself. i may have already missed true love i dont even know if i need it. but just being a player with the ladies and what not is already getting kinda stale it doesnt have the excitment like it used to maybe i need to get a bible or something??//

Very true Magdelana.
I have a couple friends that have dreams of nothing more than getting married, having a house and rasing kids. That is a socially acceptable goal, though not entirely difficult to obtain. I do not disrepect thier goal, nor trivialtize a dream. What I really refer to is the majority of people. Let me explain

When I mention some of my dreams to people, and that I activly seek them out, I usually get a response of something like "I wish I could chase my dream." I usually ask why, and the response is almost always, well, my GF got pregnant, I got married, had kids, etc. In my experience, alot of these people are always complaining about how miserable they are, they work 2 jobs, or one job at 70+ hours a week because they would rather be at work than with the woman they married. What kind of life is that?

If english is your second language I commend you. I speak only this language, which says alot about myself I think. You speak it very well. Anybody that is fluent in more than one language has my respect. (took spanish in high school, only retained about 20 words. lol)

you said it soooo perfectly epitmemus. gettin married really seems like it sucks big time. especially if you got a kid that means youll have to work all the fucking time and no free time now that sucks! much rather be single and just be a player and worry about my self and not work 60plus hours a week and crazy shit like that

epimetheus and nclifter,

Yes i also feel it is true that maybe most of us have more that we dream of then we ever do. It is often so hard to see where is your values and go and make those things happen.

But now that i am 33 i see myself thinking this often: how many of those people with 3 children and married would really leave it all to make their dreams happen IF there was the possible to do that? This can all disapear now and you can be a mountain climber or travel the world or be a professional sportsman or something else.

There was a wonderful woman 8 years ago that i could have stayed with and she loved me so and i loved her. But i could not think of the idea of not ever getting seks with another woman (she wanted monogomy). I loved the wild life i had then (and have still now) and did not want to lose it. I wish now i had chosen her. I still love her so very much and she is with someone else now.

I think i am trying to say that often any way we go in life we many times wonder and dream, what could it have been like only if........?

You can't afford to have any regrets in life.

We all have choices we make, it's how you deal with those choices that makes the difference.

It's never the situation that leads a person to be unhappy, but that person's attitude to the situation that makes them unhappy.

I am 29, single and can't seem to settle down. I love women, but i find i get bored with women very quickly, in fact i get bored with people very quickly, because i find that there are too many people living a life of 'what if.....That depresses me so i move on.

If you're not moving forward in life then your just going backwards, and if you blink, you might find it has all ended. I'm nowhere near ready for that.
