secondary inspection

Just wondering if anyone has been pulled into the secondary inspection at the TJ border (while driving). What did they do when they had you there. Did they just search your car or did they search you too. Been across on foot before just never by car. Been hearing a lot lately it is better now to go by car. Any info you have would be appreciated.
