Bros, I have totally lost my fing appetite. No food peaks my interest anymore. I used to CRAVE food and eat like a champ. Now, I'm nauseated just think that I have to eat again in 2 hours.....Think I'm overtrained? I do cardio 6x a week (one spinning class) and train heavy 6. I'm 6'2.....180 w/ about 6%. Starting to feel smooth and skinny.....I was a solid 245 a couple years back w/ about 11%. Thick and strong, but no stomach. Now, I have te 6pack and my mind won't let me ruin that my "swainnnnning".......I eat peanuts and a protien shake w/ milk (like a frosty) late, late night and it's the only thing I enjoy. LEt me have it.........

you are WAY overtrained, 6 days heavy lifting and 6x cardio a week, are you kidding me? are you preparing for a triathlon?

hit the gym 4 times a week, keep the workouts under an hour 15. (some say under an hour, but i can never fit it in in that time)
cardio no more than two 30 minute sessions a week

hope this helps

Yeah way over trained, you should take a hard look at your diet as well the key is to lose fat while maintaining your muscle mass. All you can do now is probably take a month to a month and a half off. When you feel like you wanna hit the gym again only workout max 5 days a week and go easier on the cardio. Listen to your body its live and learn

Word of advice, learn to relax and its okay to not be at the gym for a day or two. Trust me its not going anywhere. I used to be the same way. A day off from the gym was agony! Just take some time off for yourself and do something else you enjoy!! Good luck!

Drop the spinning for sure, thats very counterprodutive to leg development and geez, you are overtrained big time. :)

EASSSSYYY.........I know, I know. YOu've all said the EXACT same thing and I'm well aware of it.......It's a mind game with me. Mind is tooooo powerful. I get a huge guilty feeling if I miss a day or if I eat ANYTHING even close to "off-limits"......sucks. But, an illness like this is very hard to break.......I have a rough time taking a day off of training (and the day I do, I do cardio 2x), so the reccomendation to take 4-6 weeks off is ridiculous. I know I need a week, but it's hard. I really think it's because I have this one crazy staple. Every night.....just before bed, I grab 4-5 huge handfuls of peanuts, a thick protein shake with ice, milk and some davinchi flavoring, and some veggies with fat free ranch dip and then crash. I feel like if I don't train, then I don't deserve it and will just get fat. See, once you have the tight six-pack, the last thing you want to do is lose it. If I could break that barrier, I'm golden. Anyone who has been in this position, please advise.

Well bro if cant cant make the choice to take a good amount of time off your body will make it for you. Thats what is happening to you now. Read up on overtraining its really counter productive, you actualy lose more muscle by training like you are.

I think you have some serious obsessive compulsive probs that need to be addressed

You might just be going through a phase where you're just sick of eating clean. I don't believe heavy lifting 6x a week and cardio 6x is overtraining at all, I never saw results until I started training heavy everyday, everyone's different.

It's hard to lose fat. I got fat --
~11% fat, but this summer I really cut up to around 7% fat.

Maybe a diet adjustment would help your energy. If you're doing that much cardio, I'd guess you'd have to eat a lot of carbs and take in a lot of antioxidants and electrolytes. Fruit is good for this. I eat a lot of fruit in the morning and a little friut post WO and it gives me good energy.

Extra b-vitamins are might help your energy and appetite.

ChrisOh: who are those girls?

dude u lost alot of muscle, u went from 245lbs 11% bf to 180 6%bf dam. who was your couch u should sue him

Stang - OC disorder? Hardly......good think you're not a therapist....Obsessive? For sure. I already know this and that's 1/2 the battle.....I train my ass of everytime I'm in the gym, so I got the fuel and fire. It's just my appetite has really come down and that's what I'm trying to counter act. I know this is a result of overtraining. No doubting that. But it's the whole "afraid to lose the cuts" mentality thats holding me back. 90% of the bros here have it. That's why you always hear "How do I bulk up and stay lean at the same time"....no one wants to be a fat ass, it ain't fun. I've been through both and BY FAR am much happier ripped up and lean than stronger than piss and a bit chubby. Now, If I could put on 20lbs (over the next year) and stay lean, I'll have the best of both worlds.......I got some winny, Eq, and sus250 that Ive been holding on to for a special occasion.....this might be the time......thoughts?

You log in here, and KNOW you are overtraining, an KNOW that your problem is mental,

You proceed to say "ley me have it"

and then you complain when people help you?

Get real.

"my mind won't let me ruin that my "swainnnnning"..." ...Obviously your overtraing has dimished you ability o comminucate as well.

Look, YOU logged in here and asked for help. And now when people give you advice, you just say "but" this and "but" that. Ok, fine. Then go waste away, feel like shit, continue to overtrain, and start to create a whole OTHER list of health problems which will start to happen soon enough.

Don't waste our time by asking for advice, getting it, and then whining and arguing.

Now with that ou of the way....
Look even the pros dont stay super-cut for long. Its very very difficult to stay at 6% for any real length of time naturally and NOT run into some problems.

You said yourself, a "mentality" is hloding you back. Well - change it. Ultimately, noting will change until you decide to change it.

Plus, low carbs equates to low seratonin levels which leads to depression, OC disoprders, and various other problems as well. You are compounding the problem yourself

Holy shit your 6'2 180 and use AAS? You need to totally change the way you are training and eating.

Quit the cardio for awhile, see a shrink, and have a pizza and a few pictures of beer. At least take in two to three shakes a day instead of only one at night.:)

it is 99.9% psychological-take it slow-cut out 1 or 2 cardio sessions a week-add a shake or additonal meal and go from there

you have to take it slow- the same as if you were trying to lose weight

good luck

I agree with Riker. Don't ask for advice if you don't really want it. You came on here looking to guidance, but you aren't ready to change. That is fine, but don't ask for help if you aren't ready to accept help. You only get ONE life, why be so miserable?

You have 2 choices.

One, work on the mental block you have against losing your abs, why you feel the need to train so much, not enjoy food, and not give yourself a day off. This will take time and effort. You need to figure out why you feel this way and how you can "fix" it. Nobody can do that for you.

Two, keep overtraining until you get a major injury and HAVE to take a rest because your body fell apart. Your body will do what it can to survive. You will start pulling muscles, getting sick, tearing ligaments, passing out, whatever until your body will MAKE you sit your ass out until it feels ready to train again. You can't outsmart your body's survival mechanism.

ok....relax....esp. you Daisy. I realize I have a problem. It's a F-ING illness and I never once said I didn't appreciate the input. I was just looking for someone who had the same mental block and what they did to overcome it.....that's how you help. Not by flamming. I can take constructive critisism with the best of them, but some posts do nothing to help. Are you ripped up Daisy? Then you really have no idea........

Bro your MUSCLES will go nowhere they will always be there... TRUST me sit out for at least a couple of days and relax... You will probably get a TINY bit of meat on your stomach but damn you could hit up the gym a week later and will only take you like 1 week to catch up to where you were before !! TRUST ME !!! You dont want to regret it after when your body does something that you will have to sit out for a month and do nothing!! JUST TAKE IT SLOW!!
