Scariest video games ever?

Boach

Banned
I prefer video games over movies as my favorite past time, so when a really scary game comes out, I totally freak!

What do you think is the scariest game you've ever played? I don't care about the platform (i.e. psx, nintendo, sega, pc, whatever).

My vote is for Silent Hill 1 for PSX.

In the first part of the game where you walk in the dark with just a lighter to see and you come across with a body on a hospital gurney all bloody and flies buzzing over it and you continue to a dead end of chain link fences and you turn around and there's these demon children with kitchen knives...oooh, that game freaked me out, damn it.

I also got creeped from Friday the 13th for NES. When Jason poppped out, I cried like a little bitch. Needless to say, I never beat that one!

my prob is I love those games - but I *SUCK* at them. really terrible. it would take me like 7 years to ever beat it. I'm pathetic at best. but I love the way they look. so I'm content to just watch other people play - or get all the cheat codes.
love good looking games - working on my own but don't have a lot of free time

alien vs. predator

play that shit with the music from the CD on (scary as shit!) with the lights down and environmental audio on

its only scary as the marine as everything is so dark......predator's too good a killer and the alien is just there to eat

theres even a level like aliens where your in the tunnels and they are on the walls <shudder>

try playing with both hands on the controller :D

I assume that all of you, that hasn't even mentioned Silent Hill, has yet to play it.

It's very adult type of horror--much scarier than Resident Evil series.

To give you an idea, here's a bit of the plot. You play as a guy looking for his daughter after a car crash in a strange abandoned town. On your quest, you hunt after another girl who has some type of relation to your daughter. This girl, however, only exists on a psychic level since she is strapped to a wheel chair being kept alive after being severely burned by her mother to bring out her latent psychic powers. It's these psychic powers that sometimes alters the town's reality to that of a satanic alternate town full of blood soaked walls, rusted chainlink fences, and mutulated dead residents of the town.

so damn creepy...

I read a write up of silent hill 2 in wired I think and it looked amazing and I've wanted to get a ps2 and get those two games since I read it. but I can't really justify spending the money when I know ahead of time that I will suck at it.

that and I don't have a tv right now.

Silent Hill was the freaking mess. First time I played it was 2 years ago when I was vacationing in London for two weeks. I was scared shitless. You feel like you need a damn exorcism after playing that game. And the fucking music is nightmare stuff.

i can only play windows solitaire for so long before the chills take over and i feel like someone is watching me, like my boss. horrifying game, especially when you change the design on the back of the cards.

You guys are all pussies.

The scariest game is Clive Barkers: Undying. The sound effects and music are just amazing. If you have good speakers, or even a pair of headphones, just listening to the sounds will freak you out.

I played this game at my friends house in the middle of the country, lights off, at 4 in the morning...and I was screaming and whimpering like a whipped bitch. Fuck, I had to turn all the lights in the house on after that.

Not much can compare to Undying, but playing counterstrike against a good sniper can rattle the nerves a little bit.

Oh and I remember when I was 11, I got to the end boss on Super Mario 2. I was so jazzed up I pissed my pants.

:lmao:

princess daisy was the best....she could fly :)

For your information, HS, I have Super Mario 2 on my emulator, and I've finished it many times without wetting myself. Now if I could just stop shitting my pants, I'd be fine.

Danielson, yeah that bitch knew how to float. Good thing too, since the other characters pretty much sucked. I mean, who in thier right mind would use that little bastard Toad?

LOL

Same thing happened to me. My buddies were all dead set on using Mario. I told them they were a bunch of assholes, and whipped though the game with Daisy in about 1/2 hour. I got beat down for that, but I still showed em. :D

Never understood why anyone whould use Toad though. He couldn't jump for shit.

he was fast. that was about it though. pretty pointless if you ask me :)

Hey! I used Toad!!! Who cares about jumping...that mofo could lift a turnip like no one's business! Luigi's the king, if you wanted jumping abilities.

Undying was pretty scary...I almost forgot that one.

21 and still pissing yourself, eh taps?

Can't say I've ever been into a video game enough to be scared by it.

But I seem to recall my brother-in-law telling me Resident Evil is scarey.
