never noticed this sign at my gym, saw it today, could be new i don't know, it said "please use power racks for power movements only, IE no barbell curls"

just wondering if anyone has any funny signs like this at their gym.

That is awesome.

"No chalk" sign scribbled in ink. Today I made a nice round pile of chalk dust right under it.

theres a sign in my garage that says

if you have any excuses dave tate will punch you in the face. also, no curling the the rack thank you

i'll get a pic up tomorrow

that kicks ass, i wish we had a sign like that at my gym. matter of fact, i think i'm gonna make my own and stick it up there when no ones looking ;)

When I was a gym manager I put signs like that up. Then would watch little dumbasses read the sign then do curls in the squat racks. So I would politely ask them if they understood the written english language. When they said yes I asked why they were doing curls in the racks. Never did get a good answer for that one.

Cheers,
Scotsman

I curled in the power rack when I started training, I think everyone does.....who here can admit it?.....lol

I do, so do alot of people at my school, but it does not matter because we have a very good weight room with lots of power racks, and most people are too lazy to do anything other than a few sets of bench before leaving.

But if i was at a gym with only a few power racks and lots of people i could understand why you hate them so much.

i do it but i wrk out in my basement so ye i can do what ever i want, im gonna put up my own signs in my basement haha!!

If I ever do straight bar curls again I'll probably do them there, just cause it's the most convenient place. BUT, if anyone was waiting to do squats I'd get the hell out of the way. Somehow I don't think that'll be a problem since there are 4 or 5 squat racks at my gym and the most people I've ever seen doing squats at once was 2 (me and someone else, and even 2 at once is rare).

i can see doing it in a gym with many racks, but in a gym with 1 ( my gym back home ) i go nuts. I told the cute girl at the front desk to please put up a no curls in the power rack sign. She gave me a goofy laugh and i walked away.

exactly why i want my own gym someday, and i'll put up my own signs, first one, "NO GYM BUNNIES" "TRAIN OR LEAVE" lol

I use the rack to curl on occasion, but there are multiple racks and only when they are all empty.

Besides, most people don’t use the racks for squatting anyway, they use if for those sissy partials that they think are squats… pussies.

well, if i did straight bar curls it would be at the power rack or the squat rack...because that's where they keep the bars....other than the ones on the benches.

it's either that or steal the bar and do them somewhere else....

i like to do everything in the power rack. it is my friend:)

at 24 HR, they have a laundry list of "no's"...

NO Chalk
No Deadlifiting
No Supersets

the list goes on...

I do shoulder presses, shrugs, squats in the power rack.... shouldn't be used for anything else except chest and deads.

They definitely vary. At the 24 Hr I've been at for the past 8 months they have a deadlifting platform, tons of free weights, and I sometimes see people using chalk. Of course, there's still no real power rack, but there are 4 squat racks.
