carey elwes' character is supposed to be some smart doctor who towards the begining of the movie sugguested that the other guy in the room remove some of his clothes to reach an item. towards the end the smart doctor really used his intelligence and own idea to try to reach for the ringing cell phone that was barely out of reach.....ahem ahem he's supposed to be a doctor??? aren't doctors smart??? didn't he tell the other guy to remove i think it was his shirt to grab something??? oh yeah and danny glover is just an amazing actor. clearly his best performance since predator 2. face it saw sucks.

Watching Elwes stuggle to keep an American accent was really a highlight.

I liked the Saw for the most part. The sad thing is that it had potential to be better. The biggest flaw was the acting. Carey Elwes is just a shitty actor. The only role he ever played well was in The Princess Bride for fuck's sake. Much of the other acting was subpar as well. That tends to be a problem in alot of Lions Gate films.

Ya it definitely had some flaws. I said the same thing about the cell phone. No matter, I still loved it.

I can see the points - esp about Elwes. The concept was disturbing but fascinating. Some stuff I was sorta like, uh.... that was dumb. But definitely interesting. I dont like most horror flicks - either they are really disturbing or I'm just not interested. This one was. Despiite the ringing phone.
