Saw Harry Potter 2 last night... a question.

Ok, WTF was up with the scene of going into the forest to "follow the spiders". Sounds fucked up that Hagrid would send them there knowing they would be eaten.

BUT!!!.... the main question, is what the hell did it contribute to the story? Nothing. Does this tie in with HP3 somehow? I mean, all they did was learn Hagrid was innocent. Big whoop. That could have been proven 100 different ways.

Any the basilik (snake) was pretty lame too. The huge snake in Conan that Arnold killed was much better.

I'm not a big HP fan, but I did see the movie. Maybe Hagrid thought the Spider would extend the same passage to his friends as the Spider did for him. I agree that the whole spider plot was not neccessary.

I believe it made more sense in the book. I read it a while ago though and I can't remember. The movie just tried to stay as close to the book and include as much as it could, and in some cases didn't really fit well.

It didn't fit at all.. I mean, what was the point? To show the car was now living in the woods?

I don't care for the series due to the lack of hotties..

What? You know you would have pounded Moaning Myrtle until her last breath.

I'll have to get the book out and review it but I agree with whoever said that it made sense in the book. The Harry Potter movies are the ONLY ones I have ever seen where the movie is better if you have read the book first.

I heard one of the new harry potter books is the size of a small child. I wonder how they'll make that monstrocity into a flick without leaving anything out.

yeah, they're just playing off of the success of the first one. Overall the budget/effects were not nearly as good as the original movie....

Movies don't have to make sense...especially that one. I thought it contradicted Hagrid's character as he was supposed to be benevolent. The basalisk was crap. I hated it, the only reason I saw it was because this girl I was quite fond of at the time pulled me into it.
