Depends on how you define "bullcrap".
Quantum theories of gravity are highly mathematical, using math that never existed in the realm of physics before... this scares a lot of physicists off, and they accuse it of being merely an excercise in mathematics.
Personally, I think there are too many holes, unknowns, and other problems with string theory, and prefer loop quantum gravity and twistor theory as a more plausable arena for QG.
The whole strings-through-spacetime thing is not an exact interpretation, but it's the one string theorists market the most because it gives their theory something that laypeople (including non-string theorist PhDs) something tangible to conceptually grab on to.
(That said, I haven't seen these videos before... watching now.)

Ok, I read it. After that, I started reading/searching for more to read about it. It's after 3am here. I knew I shouldn't have watched that youtube. I really just wanted to drink wine and maybe do some brain cell killing type stuff....like maybe watch Borat.
