Roomates suck, check this out.

My Girlfriend went home and noticed that her roomate had packed up and moved out without telling her. She was supposed to stay till the end of August, she is apparently going to move back with her family in Mexico for the summer and shafting my GF will all the bills.

They were "good friends". Oh, forgot to mention that she also took some of my GF's stuff, i.e. some dishes, glasses, and cooler.

Bitch.

A little roomate story of my own: I had a roomate several years back who I would go out and party with. One night we were at a drive up ATM and I gave him my PIN # to make a withdrawl for me so I didn't have to get out of the car. Friends do this all the time, I figured it was no big deal since we were also pledge brothers.

well, 2 weeks later my savings acct went from 600$ to 0$, to make a long story short, he fessed up and his parents re-embursed me eventually.


This is why I live alone, can't trust anyone.

yeah...f living with other people. i won't take on another roommate if i don't have to until i get hitched. they all suck. even you(and I) suck as roommates but for reasons we're not quite aware of because they never tell you to your face.

If your g/f's roomie is coming back to the same area over the summer, if her name was on the lease, your g/f could probably take her to small claims court. It costs a little bit to get your issue filed, but at that point if you have the girl's new address, just leave it up to the sheriff's office to serve her w/ notice of the suit. Once the notice is delivered, if she doesn't show up the sheriff's office can pursue.

If her name is not on the lease, not much else you can do.

I had a roommate who bailed on us -- no name on the lease AND stole a pile of my cassettes (this was waaaay back before CDs) and a very expensive camera. Not shit I could do. Pick a new hobby besides photography.

It only took one bad RM for me to decide that I'd rather live in a Frigidaire Box, than ever do that again.
