Roids & IGF 1 on the Discovery Channel

Did anyone see that show Sunday night on Discovery about “Real Life Super Heros”. They did this segment on the Hulk and they talked about the use of AAS’s. I about laughed my ass of when they said that AAS’s make people have a Hulk like anger “roid rage”. They were basically saying it makes you nuts. It is no wonder the general public thinks ASS’s are bad. Anyway, there was one interesting thing in that segment. They had this researcher who is working with IGF 1 and experimenting on mice with it. He was using a virus to deliver a gene to the cells in the body to trigger the release of IGF-1. They had two mice, one natural and one injected with the IGF 1 virus. The mouse with the IGF -1 had something like 150% more muscle mass than the mouse without. There was no use of any kind of training in this super mouse. The doc also said that the gains were permanent and that they did not decrease with age. So the mouse staid strong throughout it’s whole life with no side effects. Wow, is all I can say. Imagine taking one shot and becoming a freak for the rest of your life. Interesting huh!!!!

Are you sure they were talking about IGF-1? Sounds more along the lines of myostatin inhibition.

nope, 100% sure it was IGF 1,,, I watched it again when the repeated the show after midnight. I am sure they will show it again this week,,, look for it. It was interesting to say the least!!!

I looked on their schedule for the month and I did not see it repeated,,,, It was a good watch though

yeah, i watched it for a while until they started talking stupid...then turned it off. i thought they were talking myostatin blockers also...but i think your right, probably was IGF-1....they never stated what it was during the short time i watched. that dude they used as "the model" was pretty jacked up, reason i stopped flicking channels....i was like who is that really big guy o the TV?.

they kept showing the multi-colored molecule looking thing, and it made me think of all the articles on mysostatin. lol. i don't think i saw the mouse, only the guy. lol, i saw the cow in the myostatin ads though! hes jacked up!
