Roid rage-fact or fiction?

Yes, they make you more PRONE to be aggressive, but it is nothing that is uncontrollable. Alot of people on this board will say its a myth and that its just you being an asshole, using it as an excuse, etc. Unfortunately, many of these people are just supporting these substances because they use them themselves and don't want to admit to any potential problems/sides with them. Its like asking a pothead if weed is bad for you (it really isn't that bad), they'll tell you absolutely no way is it bad for you, but the fact is that smoking anything, whether its tobacco or dried up carrots, has the potential to be caricinogenic. Sorry fellas, but there are side effects to the juice and aggressiveness and irritabilty are some of them. This fact has been proven in numerous medical studies....fuckin Hitler gave testosterone to his soldiers to make them fearless and aggressive. But these sides are really no big deal (at least for me), as long as you have some self control. They're not going to turn you into a raging beast that beats people senseless for looking at them or walks along all day with a crazy look in their eye. The best example I can give is when I did my first cycle. I didn't get pissed off for no reason, but there were a couple of guys at work that irritated me because they were assholes who somehow got the notion they were in charge of me. I never really said much because it was a summer job and I wanted to keep the peace...but once I went on the juice, no more. Within a week I had told them both what I thought about them and that they can kiss my ass. Like I said, I didn't get angry for no reason, but the shit that did make me angry for legitamate reasons didn't fly anymore.

Nobody is saying there are no sides. Several posts have said that it can make one more aggitated. We're just saying that it's hyped in the media. Please don't compare me, a hard training, educated athlete, with some pot smoking slob that sits around all day getting high...thanks... ;)

I completely agree, the fact that people make the statement "just keep yourself in check" or " an asshole is always an asshole, just bigger or more aggressive" substanciates the Rage. People do feel more agressive on different drugs although it is an individual thing. I do have to say that it is my opinion, backed by my own studys, that estrogen is the culprit. I'm in my thirties, I study and research as much as possible. I know how much proper cycling and proper pct are a must in this game. If we all think about the roid rage issue, I think of younger guys who always ask the "dbol only" questions or "Some guy at the gym told me to take some sustanon". Some of these guys don't do pct. Their hormones are going crazy. I've seen it when I was younger.

AAS gives you a sense of well-being. If you have an even or positive temperment, then you will feel that much better using AAS. Like Arnold mentioned, he gets an orgasmic feeling from working out and seeing results.

On the other end, if you're Lyle Alzado, and you're known to be an asshole on the field, AAS just makes you into a bigger asshole with a cocky attitude off the field also.

AAS doesn't rub its hands together in a menacing mischevious manner and say, "Muahahahaha, I'm going to make this guy into a complete dickhead when I get into his system." It doesn't happen. The responsibility fall on the user. Always. Like everything else in life.

Fiction. It has been proven in the New England Journal of Medicine. Or, think of it this way... You are a 185 lb crazy son-of-a-bitch to start with. Now, add 25 lbs of muscle and water, now you are a 210 lb crazy son-of-a-bitch.

I don't know - I definitely become more of a hard-ass on the football field and in the gym. I've always been a little anger prone but that chip seems easier to knock off my shoulder when my testosterone is through the roof. Small things have the tendency to irratate me more like little soccer players who stand in front of me when i'm squatting....I may have thrown a water bottle at him but he asked for it.

I wouldn't call it "roid-rage", maybe "roid-swagger"
