Roast`

I am having trouble finding things I like to eat while dieting. I have alot of roast in my deep freeze it this ok as a source of protien. I was planning on cooking it in a crook pot along with potatos an carrots and eating it through out the week along with chicken, protien powder etc... the normal stuff.

cutting up

You posted you needed to get cut... This meal will seriously hinder your success... Get creative with the "better" cutting foods... I buy huge quantities of chicken breasts fresh, grill them, and freeze what I am not going to eat in a couple days. Cook lots of brown rice and keep it covered in your fridge... Have veggies ready to steam, and your meals are ready in minutes!

Think less of taste, and more about what the food is going to do for you... Once you condition your body (and taste buds) to enjoy the foods, you won't want to eat much else...

Always be careful about how long you store cooked rice (even in a fridge).

There are very dangerous bacteria which form on cooked rice and lead to many deaths every year.

A few days in the fridge is ok, but don't overdo it.

I'll remember that

I am lucky to have the food last more than a few days, but I will remember that when a week goes by and the fridge starts to smell funky

:o

Thanks again for the warning!!!!!

A few friends of mine are doctors and they go on about how often they get cases of people with food poisoning due to old rice.

Apparently when eating out it is always better to choose plain rice rather than fried rice, because fried rice is often made from rice that the restaurant cooked on an earlier date and still have left over.

Once they make fried rice out of it you can't tell if it's fresh or not, but with plain rice you can always tell if it's fresh.

A shame - because I like fried rice. :)

The key here is that you wanted to know if roast is ok
while you are dieting...

How about some more info....?

What type of diet are you on... what results are you trying
to achieve... these details are essential in us helping to
provide you with suggestions...

Brian, roast and potatoes might help you gain but if you want to loose weight or fat, like the man said skinless chicken, brown rice, and steamed veg.. Try grilling salmon, and other seafood as well. Steam some broccoli, carrots, cauliflower or similar veg.. It takes a while but you do get use to the food and you can learn to make it taste pretty decent too, if you try.
Good luck.

ouch!!

Damn that sounds pretty serious!! Thanks for letting me know!! I never really thought about that at the restraunts, normally I special order, so hopefully it will never be a problem for me!!
