Roadside Assistance Plans

I have had a couple of offers, one from Cingular and one from my insurance company, USAA, for roadside assistance packages.

I've had AAA for years now and they are pretty good, but also pricey.

I was wondering if you guys have tried any other Motor Clubs or roadside assistance packages, in particular through your cell phone companies or auto insurance companies, and how they have worked out.

When it comes to roadside assistance -- when you're stranded -- price will mean dick. Coverage and service is what will be paramount at that time.

So if you save $10, and get stuck in BFN and can't get squat for help -- that $10 will be meaningless.

AAA has the largest coverage, and their AAA plus even has 100 free miles of towing. Which is a godsend if you travel out of town a lot.

Mine is like $50 or so. Peanuts when you figure in how much u spend on gas per year.

True, I have the plus, too, the extra 95 miles definitely come in handy.
