For running a marathon I would say no. I would load up on pastas the night before and go in refreshed.

Remember that you MUST take in carbs during a marathon at the various stops (gels etc) - will the eca stop you from remembering to take them in? DOn't want you hitting the wall at 21 miles, that'd be a shame.
