reverse grip benchpress

Hi, I wanted to know if this would be a good exercise to add for tricep work. I already do close grip bench, however, I wanted to alternate between cg bench and another compound pressing movement rather than an Isolation movement. Will the reverse grip bench help?

I think reverse grip is pretty dangerous if you handle any weight at all....

You could try a variation of the CG called a JM press... (lower it like a CG, same hand position) then rock bar towards chin/neck (elbows will go up some) then basically press up (sort of like and extension)

I really like reverse grip presses just don't do them the same day as CG. I usually alternate from week to week even though CG really bothers my wrists sometimes.

Cheers,
Scotsman

i did reverse grips for a while, but on a smith machine and my wrists hurt enough as it was, cg benches and dips are my choices

sometimes I alternate, and sometimes I do both...do both on a smith machine and my wrists are fine...like you I wanted a different compound pressing move to add to triceps work..I feel like reverse grip adds more shoulders too..I always aim to have at least one compound move on any workout day

Ive never done them. They feel real awkward to me. Biceps rubbing against the lats. I saw a dude rep 405 for 12 like it was nothing, reverse grip. Impressive
