go2failure

New member
Before:

Weight --------> 221
Flat Bench 1RM --------> 315
Deadlift 1RM ------------> 315
Squats 1RM -------------> (Parallel) = 315
Rows 1RM --------------> 205
Military Press 1RM -------> 165
Pullups 5X5-------------> BW palms in

After two runs on 5X5 madcow style:

Weight --------> 240
Flat Bench 1RM----> 360
Deadlift 1RM-------> 405
Squats 1RM--------> 405 ATF
Rows 1RM---------> 295
Military Press 1RM-----> 215
Pullups 5X5 -----> BW + 25lbs Palms out

Damn impressive results!

Could you share some lifting history....how long you have been lifting, what programs you used before 5x5, etc?

Nice work. I'm still stunned about you using the first cycle for cutting and managing to increase relevant measurements and strength holding weight constant. Given that the gains weren't evenly distributed over the tow runs, that makes it even more impressive.

Pretty darn good results if you ask me! Especially considering those aren't noobie gains, given how much you're lifting. Congrats.

So good, that I'm just as suspicious as BW - all natty? ;)

15 Years total training, but past 5 have been off and on (exception being the two 5X5's back to back). I've done 10X10, HIT, 20 rep squat program, navy seals, almost everything. Nothing comes close to the combination you get with 5X5 DF.

I want to add that I hurt my back BAD in 2001 and the docs said I would never be able to deadlift 405 again (same weight I hurt my back with). I would probably be way above that by now, but I wanted to take it slow.

Nice results. Was this natty or were you on during the programs?

natty. First time around I didnt concentrate on getting a surplus of cals in, but second time around I pretty much ate whatever I wanted and concentrated on protein rich meals.

These gains, honestly, seem a bit unreal to me. The pullup gains are incredible, if they're true. 5x5 before with supinated, and now 5x5 + 25 lbs. (and a 19 lb. jump in bodyweight) with palms pronated. Anyone else skeptical?

Not me, not in the slightest. I was curious as to whether he was 'on' just for info-gathering purposes. I'm a firm believer in muscle-memory even after years of disuse and if you scan back through g2f's posts you can see that he is a past 'user'. In my mind, it adds to the conjecture that once you've 'used' you're never natural again. You couple an ability to pile on muscle with a good program and magic pops out of the other end as you turn the nine-week handle.

Ah, didn't realize he's juiced before. That changes things a bit!

Way to go, g2f - you bastard.

That depends... I did a finasol cycle (LMAO) 3 years ago for 8 weeks and all it did was cut me up doing mainly pushups, situps, and dips for maximum reps. It was for PFT enhancement--not power/mass programs.

Currently I have no need to do a REAL cycle because I'm already way stronger and heavier than I ever was while "on" (LMAO). I dont anticipate going "on" anytime soon either.
