People, we need to start showing more respect for this board and for our fellow members. We can all agree to disagree about different training methods and styles, but the fact remains that none of us know everything. No matter where you are in life you can always learn something from someone. From the oldest veteran, to the newest member who registered today, we all have something to offer, and we also have something to learn. Approach training as you should life, with an open mind, and you will be amazed at what you can learn.
Respect is many things, but what it is not is…….
1) Creating an alter to argue, belittle, or attack members you disagree with.
2) Creating an alter to agree with you or your arguments.
3) Attacking people for the choices they have made or the roads they have taken to get where they are. If someone disagrees with you it’s fine to debate them on the merits of your argument, but don’t get personal. Who knows, if you are persuasive enough in your argument, you might win a convert.
What respect is……
1) Offering encouragement when people need it, or when they deserve it. If someone sets a PR pat them on the back and encourage them.
2) Listen and learn. Read the posts here with an open mind and listen to what others are saying. You don’t have to change your opinion, but at least respect the other person’s right to their opinion.
3) Teach. When someone asks a question offer them positive advice. Remember, every single person here had to start somewhere.
And also have fun. Life is far too short. Besides, that is part of the reason I go to the gym. When it stops being fun is when I quit going.
